Which part of "Stop for Enemy Combat Units" don't you UNDERSTAND?

I would have thought Firaxis would have either got the option to work by now or removed it altogether, especially since they're not patching the game anymore. Guess not...

I look forward to this option not working correctly in PTW as well.

Oh and while I'm on a semi-rant here, is it too much to ask to get a break before the unit-movement portion of the turn begins? How many times I've wished I could have given a unit new orders based upon enemy movements the previous turn but couldn't, due to them executing their goto command before I could get to them, I'll never know (but it's too many).

Although, on the other hand, this and the above are perhaps my chief complaints about Civ3, so I guess I should be happy...

Regarding the latter: Don't you have even one units that has not received an order the previous turn?

If you have at least one unit without an order (including newly built units), that unit will become active before the units with an old order moves. When this units is active, you is free to right-click on any unit where you want to change the order, and activate it. It will now be open for a new order.

And BTW, if you give a unit an order that will last for several turns (a long goto), it will instatly make the move for the current turn. If you later that same turn changes you mind, you may activate it. You then get a message that the unit has alreday performed its turn, and it seems that nothing happened, but in reality the rest of the goto order for later turns was removed, and the next turn the unit will have no orders.

Yeah what's the deal with that, was that going to be an option and then Firaxis never bothered to finish it or take it out?

just have the "always pause when turn ends" option on and I think that might help

My units always stop when they pass enemies unless on a railroad. And for you second problem, just go to preferences and click on the "always wait at end of turn" option.

Yeah I know. But if something happens between your turns (like you're watching enemy moves and something happens that would make you change that order), sometimes you can't stop them in time. Just annoying.

And, "Stop for enemy combat units" doesn't work at all, it seems...

if you are at war maybe you shouldn't do very long goto's, especially when you have units deep in enemy territory
