1.22

also, have no reason to hate it. I don't care about the Radio tech being removed.

I was using 1.15b because I saw no reason to use 1.22, but later I downloaded the latest version of a mod and I needed to have 1.22 to play it, so I decided aah what the hell! let me download patch 1.22

so 1.22 is the patch I'm currently playing

1.22. I don't really miss Radio - the tech was kinda pointless, and altho I can think of better ways to fix that than removing it, it's not a big deal. The only real drawback is that the late industrial became even shorter.

Ok, I'll admit it; i'm the third still playing Conquests right out of the box. Corruption doesn't seem too awful, the FP sorta works, once i patch i can't go back to unfinished games, and download times are very long at 56k. (And i still have Radio.)

Please, explain to me why i should patch before the final version?
While corruption may not seem to be awful, and the FP sorta works, as you call it, there is a lot to be gained in terms of corruption and FP effectivity. These aspects are improved in 1.22. The removal of radio may be an annoyance to some, but I don't mind it. And the incompatibility between 1.15 and 1.22 in terms of save files will not bother you.

Surely, with a regular modem it's a long download, but as I understand you are from NJ, USA, you don't have to pay per minute for your telephone, so who worries about a few hours of download time?

1.15. I'm in three SGs, all of which use it. I already have 1.22 downloaded, but until it becomes the new standard, I don't plan to switch.

Yeah, it's quite nice to start the download at bedtime and wake up to install it... :)

But the final patch is due soon, isn't it? They said 2nd quarter, which we're in now, right?

I still have a game going with the 1.15 patch, so it'll be 1.15 at least until I am done my current game.

Though I can't say I'm in any hurry to patch up to 1.22. :undecide:

1.15, but only because of SGs
Same with me, but I did have 1.22 for awhile just see what it was like and what got fix.

Just patched to v1.22 last night (3 hour download). I haven't used any other patches prior to this. I was quite happy playing the 'out of the box' version until I finished my last epic game (huge Pangea map on Monarch level, Mongols; over 10,000pts). Just started my first game with the patched version and looking forward to a little less corruption!

Perhaps so, Tomart109, but you if they say 2nd quarter, then I expect it will be end of June rather than beginning of May, and I wouldn't be totally surprised if it turns out to be beginning of September.

Good luck to you, Calder. Enjoy your patched game.

1.22- anything else is outdated. Radar requires that one has radio technology-(or else radar would not exsist-and too Radar was the big discovery in so far as affecting war strategy- in short the loss of Radio is a small thing-and a curious desicion)

Three people at 1.20 so far. I'd certainly recommend you switch to 1.22, and the same goes for those who are "out of the box". Still 32% at 1.15, I guess because of the backward compatibility issues. More than half the people are on 1.12, which is a good score, I think.

Outdated? An interesting concept, let's just hope the next patch is actually worth something. And for radar, it confers 25% battle bonus two tiles wide. Now here is a great example of under-using something so sublime!

Back up 'radar' to early ancient times, give it to various leaders, have them enter play as units that confer 'favorable presence' to other units engaged in battles on both land and sea.

This is style, camping on it to end of game with limited use that's Vanilla for you!

I have "straight out of the box" I got it as a present, but then again, my birthday is right around the corner (I'm young, I still get stuff for my birthday :bday: [party])
