Which Virus Scanner?

I use f-prot. It's free for the DOS version and also the version for Linux. Works well (flagged worms and trojans in Linux!) and has a very regular update of signatures through their email notification service.

Okay I received reply from H+BEDV Datentechnik GmbH and they said the file did not contain any malicious code so that a2 scanner must be overzealous. If you want to try scanning the file go ahead. I would like to know what comes up if anything.

Any of the products already mention work fine as long as they are set up properly and most importantly, kept up to date.

Both McAfee and Norton are sending out updates two and three times a week right now with all the Bagle and NetSky variations popping up. At last count there are 15 variations that the biggies have rated as medium or higher risks.

I use McAfee at work and its fine, but, we keep it updated.

I use McAfee's free standalone Stinger on my PC laptop at home and nothing on my Mac. Never had a virus hit at home in over 10 years...the network at work is a completely different story.
