While We Wait: Part 6

Well, well. Dachs has joined my club, eh?

I urge you to leave the country quickly before he sics a search party of Iggy and I after you. :p 9,900,000 km2 is doable for us. ;)

Apparently some people don't appreciate the fact that some people find doing things for a hobby, no matter how much work that may be, to be FUN and ENJOYABLE.

Does anybody who NES' for a sizable portion of their time really have the right to use that thinly veiled insult?

Not really an insult. We just want an explanation. How does a senator find time for doing all these things?

EDIT: jeps, lol what?

... Senator? Haben Sie viel Bier und Kuchen?

And you clearly asked what Symphony D. does for fun, not how he finds time to do things, which are wildly different questions as far as I know, though I haven't slept for 24 hours now so I'm not sure if I'm thinking coherently. I'd quote you, but I'm afraid you might accuse me of misquoting and/or taking quotes out of context. :)

Carmen told me Symph is a senator.

Or maybe he was talking about swissempire. I dunno, it was a pretty long time ago.

I don’t think ranking mods or NESes will improve the quality of NESes. Just because you rank someone as a poor mod doesn’t mean they will improve. Most likely they will operate as usual. What I would like is statistics on mods. NESes past 10 updates. NESes past 5 Updates, NESes officially ended, NES left in hiatus or abandoned.

These are my personal preference because as a player I enjoy consistency over quality. I hate really getting into a NES only to have left in limbo for no apparent reasons. Thinking about it more I am looking for a gauge on commitment. I would more willing to play for a lower quality MOD who commits himself to a NES. Then a high quality MOD how makes such a complicated NES that it becomes too much work and thus not fun leading to a lack of commitment to their NES.
If you had read my posts, you'd see that I don't at all advocate ratings mods as "good" or "poor." :p I suppose that if we were ratings NESes, stats like time between updates and total number of updates would have to come into it too, since plenty of players would rather join ones that update quickly. All the stuff that would impact a player's decision to join a NES would ideally be included.
@ Symphony D.

Chan. You said noone can objectively rate their own NES, thus it can be implied that you cannot rate your own NES.
I'm aware that I cannot objectively rate my own NES, and so I assume that no one else can. It's rather like how I assume that my fellow human beings are self-aware. I think, therefore I am, but I have no proof that you all actually have self-awareness. I just notice that you all don't act that differently from me, so I have to assume that you're all sapient.

Best thing since sliced bread was a flop. So? Not any more a flop than many of the NESes we see today... Check out some of my more recent works, before you start digging up fossils of my NES past.
I wasn't around back then, but it looks like Dachs was claiming that you weren't exactly the most objective reviewer of your own work.

Back then, I was too busy kickin' ass to mod. Nowdays NESes have a lifespan of 3-5 updates, unless we want to wait for months for an update at a time, which is heinous. So my roll has switched from player to mod since I've been back. Back then when NESes updated, I had to spend time whupping ass. Now I don't have the opportunity because of afforesaid lifespan of NESes. So I mod... And none of the NESes I've started since I've been back can be said to be failures.

Objectively, I did plan to go alot further with Motherhen, so it may be reopenned at a later date... But MRTOR is about to be updates as we speak. It has plenty more stories per capita than any other NES running atm, which was my goal when I made the NES... To allow newer players to experience what it was like back in the days where NESers wrote the story, and the mod just adjudicated orders and made sure noone had an unfair advantage beyond their ability to manipulate the world around them.
And you aren't exactly helping your case here.
Actually just read through my post and realized that I agree with you. I just think that it goes both ways.
Yeah, I'm looking for grounds to compromise here. I guess some people won't be satisfied with whatever is decided, but I just want to get as many people onboard this idea as I can.

You're so cute

Oh yes... The best thing since sliced bread was the name of the NES... So obviously I had high hopes. But I didn't have the follow-through required to make it a success back then.

Jesus, what do I have to do to be taken seriously around here?

Not ripping off someone's old NES without permission (your lucky Bombshoo is a nice guy) in a desperate bid for attention is a good start.

Also, unless your playing all of us or you have a documented medical condition, get your sarcasm/joke detector fixed.

Well, I gave him credit. Its not like I'm plagiarising it.

Although my updates suck compared to his. You CANNOT say I plagiarised his updates...

Also, why?

Wow the mood changed fast, didn't it?

This. Good god man have you stayed in the womb your entire life? Do your parents allow you out of the house?

You just had to make fun of me...

I'm annoyed, ok? No matter what I do, I am still mocked.

Lets just gift Sp with a tool. ;)

You sir are the tool! ;)

No. My parents restrict me in everything. They won't even let me use the train to go to school, even though I've got a free metrocard.

The only place I can go to without supervision is my Tae Kwan Do school. And that's across the street. Which they can see from the Balcony window.
