Who-6 "The Great Game"

By the way what happened to monkey.

lurker's comment: goodjob!
really great progress, at times even \too fast to follow :D

last night, while playing the japanese, i have learnt a new thing.
dont boot the brits.
especially after only 3 turns of peace with russia.
and this on turn 30-40?
even the eastasian fleet-troops are more than enough to dent me.
ah well, i live and learn!

Meine Herren, it was a high pleasure for me to be in this game. We were an outstanding team. Usually the victory screen appears at the start of the next turn. So play that turn to the end and save it, El J. Then post it for all and we play the last AI turn to see the victory screen.

Congrats to all of you, folks. :goodjob:

Congratulations on winning an exciting game, gentlemen! :goodjob: Even though I didn't understand large parts of it due to unfamiliarity with the mod, it was loads of fun to read. Way to go!

Week 18 1909
on this my final turn of the set, i wanted to push hard to wipe out as many of the remaining cities as logistically possible.

Dutch-held Indonesian city of Medan falls to our forces after a long battle but no losses (134:14)

the assault on the last New Granada city of Quito in Ecuador is taken and we sustain light casualties (142:14) New Granada eliminated in 5 turns :)

Palembang on Sumatra is seized but not after i sustain what turns out to be the largest KIA figure of any turn set for me (166:21)

@Whomp
in sum, i was able to nick 66 raw material units off of Sumatra alone (yes :D i counted them)

exactly 52 new colonial divisions arrive from Africa in Cayenne :hammer:

i send the final installment of naval assets to block off the Dardenelles from those annoying Austrians - for some reason, they moved out from the coast tiles they were occupying near Thessaloníki for all that time

Bonafacio on Corsica is snatched away from the grubby french - au revoir mon amies...parfois la vie n'est pas juste ;)

in sum, i knocked out all of New Granada (5 cities and a VP), parts of Indonesia (5 cities), all of Tibet (2), and the last french bastion in Corsica (1). by far my greatest push all game long :groucho:

i then saved the game just prior to hitting enter so i could register the win:

The winning turn!

there's still still plenty of action left for whomever DLs the save. i mean, i assembled forces poised to attack Australia, Brazil, and even the US. i left a pile of RMs in Damscus and on Sumatra after the VP win was had :smug:

again - great job all :goodjob:

on a sidenote - i'm thinking of hosting a new SG in the coming weeks - it'll be the brand new Vietnam War files i have been working on for the last 6 months. i've yet to release the files but i'd love to have any or all of you guys aboard for that once they're ready (lots of strategy, invisible units, and death from above [USAF/USN]). keep an eye out for it :D

yes, yes :) they're quite powerful early in the game or if they are left unchecked by other civs. same goes for the Chinese position, too.

the bonus for the Japanese civ is that you can build your regular infantry units everywhere (all other civs need the "Industrialism" resource). this comes in pretty handy when hopping islands :)

Count me in for the Viet Nam game El J! :D

Awesome stuff everyone. I really enjoyed that. Man we spent a long time on this baby. I feel like half of those hours were mine.

Week 18 1909

look at that amount of time!

I leave civ on while i play it i probaly had half of that.

Edit: I didn't fully read whomps comment before i posted.

Super! However our victory is a bit bigger: If you sent the 43 raw materials from Sumatra via Tsingtao and Mukden home we'll get another 86 points :p ;). The same has to be said by the units in Damascus, the one on Jamaica and the ones off Constantinopel= 82 raw materials= 164 points. And not to forget the two from Cayenne via Brazil (168 pts.).
So in the end: 4.205 pts. (1.933 location, 2.272 units).

But that's only for statistics. Good Job folks! :goodjob:

El J, whenever that VietNAMMMM game starts....
he aint heavy! he's my brother!
nice dude  i've been putting the last touches on it over the last few weeks. and i'm pretty pleased w/ the game play of it so far - and for those who may be interested, check the link in my sig for some of the developmental notes, screenies, etc. it's even got its own "Sixties" soundtrack, much like the way AoI has an early 20th century one :)

one last note on this AoI sg -
i probably had the most fun renaming all of those damn transport units  and reading the ones that you guys all named  funny stuff for sure. and i was really burning the midnight oil trying to come up w/ new names there after a while

Absolutley fantastic lads. A Bulladh Bus is in order. I was left drooling at some of your moves.

Btw: whatever country had a higher life expectincy than 95 thats where I'm going when I leave school.

heh - i was thinking the same think pat4 :) who could it have been?! i don't know since they just showed our rankings as Germany.

I imagine it was small countries. By the way el j ill be in for the nam game.

ALways at any position of a major western power or Japan strike CHina early you should be able to take it. The just watch you take over the subcontinent.

Or we were too busy wiping aside all that opposed us to have kids

It would be a little while for me still (I must find a job, I just checked my bank account and all I can say is ouch). Thank somebody I have some money in my other account, but not a whole helluva lot.

Other than that I'd be happy to join. Hopefully we can alter the outcome to one that's more favorable. If we're playing as the US.
