As I said before, after the third or fourth city on the Chinese list, they arent even cities any more. Theyre just provinces! For example, Canton is a PROVINCE where Hong Kong is. Is it really that difficult? If youre going to do this with China, why not list STATES for the US cities?
Canton is a real Chinese city - modern hanyu pinyin ver is Guangzhou, third largest city in China today. Though Xinjian, Shandong are Chinese provinces. And they'd passed on a lot of the ancient Chinese cities, preferring to stick to a modern map like Chang'an (China's imperial capital for a thousand yrs), Taiyuan, Xuzhou, Suzhou, Xianyang (Qin capital), Luoyang (Eastern Han capital) etc.

Sorry if I seem angry. Im Chinese decent, thats why.
So am I; being angry and Chinese both. ;)

If Firaxis wanted to do it, they shouldn't have mixed it up with new city and old city names. Chengdu, Anyang, and Bejing are the new names; Tienstien, Nanking, Tsingto are all old term names. I don't know why they did that; if they preferred to stick to a modern map I would have liked to have modern names as well.

Firaxis may have taken out cities because they weren't as well known as others.

Someone should create a seperate thread fo this discussion.
