Out of all the civilizations, which one always pops up and harasses you no end or you just find plain annoying?

For me it is the Grigori with their annoying Cassiel as leader.
When he first came up with "What a foolish person you are" I have had it in for him. And now it seems the Grigori always turn up next to me whenever Im playing.

One of these days, Im going to exterminate the Grigori and laugh about it afterwards. Who is your pet hate?

Well, as of this moment it's MagisterCultuum.

Any civ that inexplicably builds a city right next to me even though I am hundreds of miles from their capital. So that would be all of them. My kingdom for a setting that lets me put a cap on how many settlers a civ can build each game.

I concur. Sometimes the AI build their city in a position which blocks my expansion, and their city sometimes locate at somewhere the production cannot be optimized, such as resources out of fat-cross...etc. Maybe a good thing when the city is at enemies' hand:lol: but when later we're at war, I will have no choice but raze it since I can't bear to see such a good strategical location is wasted!:( Maybe due to the low difficulty since I'm a noob:lol:

I suppose using "who" or "whom" is not the point of the thread.

Ref: Though I don't really get your idea Tarquelne:crazyeye:
But I'm not doubting the correctness of "whom" or advocating using anyone
Just thinking that maybe he should "also" answer the question instead of simply telling a grammatical mistake which even not all will regard as it is:lol:

It's people like you who would allow MagisterCultuum to win!

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." - Edmund Burke.

I'll mention, parenthetically, that my wife invariably refers to Arandel Phaedra as "B*tchcakes." Some bad blood going back to the Lj. in FFH1, I think.

You mean whom do you hate.

Ah yes, since the object of the sentence comes at the beginning, many people are tempted to use who, even though "whom" is correct. Just use the pronoun test and reverse the sentence:

Object - Helping Verb - Subject - Verb
"Whom do you hate?"

Subject - Verb - Object
"I hate the Bannor."

:crazyeye:

I answered the topic! Just in a roundabout way!

The civilization for whom I bear the most ill will would be the Balseraphs, especially Perpentach.

I can usually take over those annoying cities built too close to my empire through culture eventually. Not so with the Balseraphs. I also can never seem to build the Theater of Dreams wonder first, so I always lose out on that diplo bonus with them.

I like playing as the Balseraphs, converted to culture bombing mind-dominating Empyrean archmages. For some reason it's entertaining to me.

I hate the Illians and the Dovello. Those guys are always on my borders and attacking me with their wolves and crap. Faerl Viconia is a close second, with her guerilla *everything*.

I hate playing against the Malakim. He whinges and whines, and if you say no you get a hefty diplomacy penalty (-2). Ooooh give me tech... Ooooh ally against our enemy... Ooooh stop trading with blah... etc. So I try and stomp him asap. That, and he is usually up there in the score ;) He is aaargh! I also like playing as the Malakim, so I can rp his whinging hehe ;p

It's usually whoever is near me, but the big three for an early war are as follows.

1. Cardith Lorda. The large city radius eats into yours, and the city positions are usually crap, meaning a raze. Better to kill him before he gets too big.

2. Faeryl Viconia. She's obnoxious. I usually don't want to go to war with her until I've got a unit that needs the bump to get above 101 experience, but she usually starts it with the hidden units and reams of useless attackers.

3. Os-Gabella. Sort of like Faeryl Viconia, only dog-ugly and lacking grace.

I love the Bannor, so I would have to say any civ with AV and/or demons. Hate is a strong word for me because I'll play the Clan or Infernals from time to time to mix it up.

Everyone cut Magister a break. He is a Great Sage now. ;)

Oh I love playing the bannor - I just hate it when Sabathiel shows up next to me and decides that since I'm not his religion, him and Basium team up to kill me (I was FOL, not AV!)

Shouldn't there be a Pointless Grammar Debate subforum for things like these?

For me it's Kandros. I like trade routes and he never gives me one. Then when I don't convert he starts throwing trebuchets at me. And he's always so heavily defended that it's a pain to go shut him up.

I hate the sheaim. I guess im just not a fan of hell tiles ruining my fat-cross, so i always kill the sheaim at the first opportunity

I still hate Montezuma the most. Bastard.

Even though they have only been around a short while, I dislike the Archos, from Vehem's Fall Further modmod.

They ARE FFH2's Montezuma. ;)

In the three games I've played with them as an ai civ, they were constantly at war. In my last game they declared war on Flauros, another Evil civ, on turn 10 (epic speed).

They declare war, you pound them, they want a cease fire, they declare war again. It is like playing Whack-A-Mole!

I haven't been bothered by their spiders, but they spam Brutes (a little more powerful than Axemen) and keep sending them after you until you wipe them out.
