Man, I miss those. I think what I miss most is the music- they're each about 35 seconds long, but they seem to be a buildup to some awesome piece of music, whereas Civ IV's is just.. dissonant and unmemorable. I wouldn't mind a mix of the two in terms of approach, showing how it was built and then showing footage of the real thing and/or art of it, but really, get the music right!
And the High Council.. Man, good times. I loved hearing them bicker back and forth, and I missed them dearly; it seemed a bit lonely in comparison. It was sort of nice to have companions that would go with you through time. And if they bring back the throne room improvements, I can die happy.
