Indeed.
But i still think it's Brazil the luckiest team so far.
Our first three matches were presumibly easy (except maybe turkey, from whom we previoulsly expected a challenge).
I don't expect Belgium to be able to face us. They'll have a some oportunities, and may score, but their strong part is the defense, what really suits us. We'll get trough.
The World Cup will really start for us when we get to face either Denmark or England. Two great teams, but i'd rather face Denmark. I think that their players are heavier, and we can defend ourselves from their "pivot" style in the offense. The speed of owen, on the other hand, would be quite a challenge to our incompetent defenders.
If and when we managed to get to the semi-final round, i think we'll have a physical advantage. Ourt players will be better fit than others who had already to play all their cards, while, due to our luckly easy group, we were able to save some to the following games (just see that we used all but one of our replacements already).
In the finals, unless we face Italy or Germany, tradition will speak louder. And, after all, we lost our first final than won 4 in a row. We lost our last final, so...
In terms of luck, the next rounds seens favourable too. After all, Italy, Spain or Germany will cross our path only in the finals. The only favourite we have ahead is England, that'll have to face a war against Denmark, and may very well loose. On the other key, thanks to France fiasco, we shall have a relatively smooth semi-final, allowing us to go to the finals with full strenght.
I wasn't very confident in Brazil before the WC started, but everything seens to be working like a clock for us so far - except for our shameful defense, but if our offensive can live up to the challenge - and Ronaldo is playying unexpectedly well, and getting better each game - we may very well win.
Perhaps, after those horrible last two years, our players have made their peace with the Football Gods.
