Hi;

Just wondering how many of you are addicted to civ 4. I wish i could say i was. I just don't have that motivation to play civ 4, as i did civ3. I find it just not addecting. But then again with civ 3, it took me a while to get an addection. Hopefully the same will happen civ 4, where i am hooked.

Want to hear other people comment.

one thing i find about civ4, i find it more overwhelming and more complex then civ 3. And i hate how its not easy as to upgrade units..(like warrier to axeman)...u have to find the unit and upgrade it form there, where in civ 3 you can just upgrade in the military advisor screen...where it was much faster

well thats my "...last word" on civ 4
(you canadians know what i mean by ...last word if you watch the national...)

Canada Revolution on November 28...Collapse of Liberal Government...hehe..

Addicted? If you forget to cook dinner and eat at 23pm, go late to bed:sad: (I need to respect the alarm in CIV4)....does that classify?

I think so.

I did not tempt fate by clicking on any icon in the game, unless is was strictly necessary. Basically it would CTD or LAG for a long time before snapping out of it. So I did not have the luxury of trying to upgrade units or anything like that. Viva Le Patch!!!

You will be hooked, resistance is futile!!

I'm so addicted that when I don't play it, I keep reading these forums and post about the game! :)

Yipeeeee! :D Maybe we'll finally get rid of Paul Martin!

im addicted...you know you are when you dream about your campaign after you finally log off and go to bed

It'll come when you know how descisions you make effect your game later on. Before you have this experience, you just do something, maybe even the thing suggested by the game, and you find yourself only clicking on the buttons handed to you by the game. That won't hold anyones attention for long. But the learning curve is steep. I'm only at my 2nd game and allready start grasping some strategy.

Keep playing and reading up on the strategy forum.

I don't think I am addicted?? I just got home from work it's 4:00am and I didn't want to finish a saved game so I am reading the forums instead. That way I will get to sleep soon.
I did try the alarm (50mins) I was so entranced in the game (visuals are excellent) it was like an alarm clock waking you from a sound sleep. I was puzzled from the noise and then the banner was on the screen. So like hitting sleep mode for some extra ZZZ I turned it off and played for another 90 mins. It threw the rest of the scheduled day of responsibilities off a bit.:D

I was addicted for a little while, playing all night, then posting on the forums about it, etc. But then something happened - the one possible cure for my addiction: my computer got fried by a power-surge. Now that my computer doesn't work anymore, I can't play and the addiction is broken - for now...

I love this game like I love breathing. Although yes when it did first come out i had a hard time adapting, but once i found a strategy for conquest and culture victories and the Canadian Mod came out I was hooked. The game holds my attention with great visuals and keeps me on my toes with my decisions on how to win the games i play. I love it. I think it was said best with this...............

I'm not addicted; I just want one more turn, that's all. :D

Im quite addicted in that I play the game every night and I am still finding it a challenge and seeing suprising things happen. I bought Civ 3 and dint play it at all - too much like Civ 1 and 2 both of which I bought and played to death.

Civ 4 just seems like a breath of fresh air and Im really enjoying it. More so becuase Ive been so fed up with computer games lately having so many bugs or being repetitive or just too fast and furious. I like the way I can take my time with Civ 4 and really get into it. I wont need another game for months now!

Nats

Oh for sure, warts and all this game is very addictive! I find myself stratigizing at work on how to bury my enemies... Needless to say my wife, not sharing my addict... erh... love of the game, cannot stand "baba yetu" as this song preceeds many hours of non attention from her husband.

Now, if I could just get her to see the light? :mischief: LOL
