Poly thinks we should attack GWT, but I fear they'll slice us before we get to do anything of real harm. They might even get a leader. This is a very difficult choice. :undecide:

GWT would counterattack us in GCA territory, anyway.

I don't think GWT would have troops in GCA. But if they do, either landing will be a hard fought battle.

I think they will have units to spare, as Poly can't get a good landing. I didn't say they will be in GCA territory, but if they see us (and they will), they will boot us out. GCA is pretty much one of their cores, a core they can re-establish easily. They cannot re-establish their FP or Leos.

Chat with APO at apolyton.net #isdgfamtalks at 6:30EDT-3:30 PDT-10:30 GMT!

You may talk about who to invade at that chat above. APO will be inspecting at lest some people.

Bring our ships back and regroup; convince Apolyton to do the same. Work together to to gain great strides in the tech race, with CGN contributing one tech to our 3 to Poly's 4.

We enter the Industrial Age and gain CGNs free tech(likely Nationalism), and work toward ironclads. If we are lucky, we do this right when GWT discovers Navigation. With a false sense of security, they send their ships over the ocean, our Ironclads in wait. Once we decimate several Cav-carrying ships, we advance on the Western mainlands with the knowledge that GWTs offensive has been stunted. If the ships never come, then we slowly make our way west, picking off enemy ships on our way.

I prefer this method to:

Land somewhere(if possible). Take one city. Hold it for awhile(maybe), but eventually lose it as we have no movement bonus on foreign soil, and GWT/GCA will no doubt descend on it until it is gone. With no backup plan, 12 healthy riders lost for no significant result.

If we do continue on the latter route, let us please remember not to put the "Mission Accomplished" banner on display.........

I still think we should attack GWT mainland, would serve to take some pressure off 'polys landing.

An Important thing, Donovan, is that if we hit the right city and burn it, it will have been worth the riders. I mostly agree with you, but not completely 100%

If we manage to burn Leo's, it surely is worth all those riders. Remember, it will then cost GWT double the price to upgrade units than it now does.

So, how did the chat go?

A few things. APO wants us to attack GCA or the GWT city of Flammburg. If we attack GCA we have a very high chance of success. If we attack flammburg it may or may not help APO, since it may stilll be fortified. I say we go for GCA, I wanna attack them :p

GCA is useless scum.

I say let's try to help Poly. If we can help them to destroy the FP, and we get nothing done, I think it can be called a victory. I am in doubt, though.

Let's just tech race them to a point where we have a decisive military edge. Then go after them.

We can only get an edge, if we destroy their FP.

Destroying Leo's wouldn't delay them that much. They would still have alot of productive cities that tune out mass gold and science.

If we turn back, they have no delay at all. They could pump more into science, since they wouldn't be at war.
