Who wants to...

Just a thought here:

If we are going to use the same game for both teams, then we may not want to have someone playing both games (sorry Cedric). It would just seem that, in the beginning especially, the person that plays on both will have an unfair advantage. One team may open up one side of the map, and the other team could go an entirely different direction. The player on both teams would then have knowledge of the map that he/she shouldn't.

Hey this does seem to make some sense, prolly (damn aol slang sneaking in) why Håkan said no earlier. I don't mind only being on one "team" but I do think this has a bit of competition coming up between the "classics" and the "MGE's" and I find it funny, remember it's just a game

Just got finished with my first reign in the classic game. I'm wondering this... Are we able to keep the timelines that each player wrote and put them together into a "Civ" story. I think that it would be pretty neat to have a history of these succession games down in print. The storyline I got from Thunderfall was pretty good and I hope that I did it justice when I sent my lines to Cedric. I like the idea that we each have an impact on this one game, and for better or worse we all get stuck with it. It can't be that much work to get all the timelines together and then cut and paste it all into one big story with the dates. It would maybe top five or six pages of printed material and you would have a record of these games for all to see! It would help some newer players to read what exactly some more experienced players did, turn by turn. This way, history really could judge you. If the town you built in 600 b.c. really ended up a dud, there is a written record of it, "signed" by you!!! Or if you did something heroic, we can sing your praises in the halls of the CivFanatics Forum!!!

Hey Flatlander!!

I thought you were MIA for a while there

There's a great thread for both the Classic and MGE teams in the "Stories and Tales" Section. Can't wait to hear how everything went.

hey Flatlander,

I am glad to hear from you. next time please let me know that you have received the files. Me and hakan were considering skippig your turn if we didn't hear from you in a day or two (I know, we are evil).

I'm not trying to hurry anybody (so you can feel free to ignore this, it's only for my own convenience), but I would like to get the MGE game before Monday of next week.
I'm going on vacation, so if its late the people after me will have to wait for a week.

Once again, I don't know how long these things will take, and if its sent to me around next week and I don't quickly send it, I haven't bailed, I'm just out of the country.

Thank you all.

We might switch you and Fry002 if we don't hear something soon which would make you next.

I need to know who to send the saved game to...so when you decide Smash just msg me plz.

Does everyone know that there are two threads in the Stories & Tales forum? One for the Classics and on for the MGE. You can post your reign's history there.

DUH!!! Hence the title "stories and tales" huh? Well after that little oversight I am glad that I didn't get skipped as I had already played it out. And I wasn't MIA I was ITF (In the Field)
smile.gif
. I did manage to sneak my Civ onto a laptop though and play out my turns. Government computers RULE!!! I think I hear the black helicopters outside my house now!!! Gotta go and tell my tale!

Alright Andu Indorin just let me know that the sav I just sent him "failed to load" so I checked my version and guess what its ver. 2.7.8l, I went and dled the version 2.42 patch and couldn't open any of my sav's but could still open the original sav so it looks like I'll have to replay my turns when I get out of work. I believe version 2.7.8l means we have Fantastic Worlds installed, as I do and the version on my classic civ cd is 2.42. If this doesn't work I'll just forward the first zip.

Yes I think thats right.2.78=2.42+FW.So if FW wasn't there it should be ok.

If you have lots of HD you could install seperate versions.

Sorry Willem, I am a transplanted American (Army), therefore I despise soccer
smile.gif
. I know it's the world's most popular sport and all but I just can't get into it. Plus what's with all the hoodlums
smile.gif
??? On that note FC Nurnberg sucks
smile.gif
and I get to watch dejected Nurnberg Fans every week get plastered and lament on just how bad their soccer team is.haha But if I'm forced to root for a soccer team it's Bayern Muenchen or 1860. But that's not very often.
Real news: I sent the 625 b.c. file (my game) to Andu and now am anxiously awaiting our Kingdoms fate.
How did we lose the Wonder race so badly???
Never seen a gardening Mongol before. Must go well with the 347 horsemen they will build later on in the game.

I have received the game, and have commenced continuing the reign of our glorious Empire.

Yeah, 1.FC Nürnberg really sucks! Well, you don't need to get into soccer. German basketball isn't that bad (For a European league), and either is the German (American) Football leugue (Frankfurt, Berlin).
