As embarrasing as this is, I want to request the original Pediaicons.txt file for PTW v1.27. You see, I am just now getting around to starting COTM7, and when I was cutting and pasting the Pediaicons.txt file included in the .zip file, I cut and pasted the updated Conquests Pediaicons.txt file to my PTW Text folder... :crazyeye: (I have since pasted the file into my Conquests folder. :) )

I think the easiest way to remedy this inattentive mistake is to have someone post the original PTW v1.27 Pediaicons.txt file in this thread. Alternatively, one could send me a PM and then send the file via e-mail. Either method would be highly appreciated, as it would help me to avoid a re-install, which would wipe out my Hall of Fame. Also, this would be a quicker fix. Thanks in advance, and my apologies for cluttering up the GOTM forum with this thread. Hopefully, this thread will quickly fade into oblivion. :)

P.S.--I have already tried just re-installing patch v1.27. It did not update the Pediaicons.txt file.

I have attache two files to this message. One is pediaicons.txt which is what is used for GOTM and another one is pediaicons_original.txt which is original firaxis file.

Solenoozerec, thanks very much for your quick response. Due to your help, the problem is solved! :goodjob: (Since I am planning to resume play of the Classic GOTM, as well, I opted for that version. Thanks for offering both.)

Ainwood, there is a good chance that the Conquests Pediaicons.txt would have worked with PTW. I just didn't want to get deeply into a game and find out otherwise. ;)

For future reference, if all you are worried about is your Hall of Fame, it's just a text file called HighScores.cv3. Make a copy of it somewhere else on your hard drive, then reinstall, then put it back. To retain save files do the same - move the Saves directory out before reinstalling then move it back again.

Thanks for the tip about the Highscores.cv3. Excellent! I have been thinking about doing a fresh install of WindowsXP in order to speed things up a bit (after a couple years, things have gotten bogged down), and I will back up that file. As to the saves files: I have kept a save game log of every game I have ever played. It now totals some 1,150 files, 408MB, and 73 games. Pretty crazy, huh?

:goodjob:
