Hi I just wonder why you should buy conquest? xept fixing some bugs and adding some new units, is it really worth buying? What's the difference between conquest and the ordinary civ3?

I ask because I probably want to buy the game when my budget comes around. So, thank you in forhand, I guess. :mischief:

:p :p  :p :p

A Succession Game is...

I bought it just to keep up with everyone else - the new civs and everything else was a bonus as well. It has some nice graphical changes as well.

I bought it so that I could play some of the excellent mods that have been and are being developed for the game, especially the Fantasy and Sci Fi adaptions ;)

I bought it for the changed corruption model and new specialists

I've already ordered Conquests at my local nerd... er... computer shop :D

It looks like a great step up from Vanilla, and a decent improvement on PTW ;)

Hi all,
actualy for me Conquests is a big improvement on CIV. I recently tried to play a game on the CIV 3 (i think you call it Vanilla) after several months on conquests and I felt as if my right hand was cut.
Specialists rock, especialy the improved scientists. Policemen and engineer are also good, but come too late and it's too long to use them. I mean, governor never manages to set them right (he always chooses between scientist and taxemen).
Armies are also much better. So as coracles. Too bad stupid AI doesn't use them, it could give him a chance to survive...
Finally, wonders. I JUST LOVE INTERNET, even if it comes late and most players dont get there. Well I dont like winning a game with swordsmen, and often play till future techs.

Buy it because you're a civfanatic, like the rest of us! Duh! (Mac users don't count!:p)

Ginger Ale already told you and gave you a link.

Edit; OK Turner beat me to it.

There were countless changes from PtW to C3C, almost any of them to the better. I hope you've read

already?
C3C is really way better than the previous incarnations. Not like PtW, which gave you buggy MP, some new Civs, and a better editor as only redeeming feature.
C3C indeed has three annoying bugs (submarines, AI non-use of MGLs for Armies, and the SGAs not working), but almost anthing players keep complaining about was already in the previous version, just nobody noticed it (like the AI never attacking Armies).
Since C3C is cheap, get it.

Well, if you want to play anything other than the standard rules you should get C3C. It's much easier to modify (aka mod), and there are a bunch of scenarios and mods for it, not least the great fantasy mods.

That's it. I bought it for the new civ traits for my mod. I play a sort of hybrid PTW - C3C mod. C3C provides a lot of new options in the editor to add interest to the game.

ops missed that link... Anyway thank you guys, you have convinced me. I will now take my wallet and go out through my door to buy conquest, all to reinforce the economy of sid meriers so that they may develop many wonderous games to come.

Regards, the HaC man :p

btw, im mostly buying it for the mods that are available

Good for you. We all expect a $20.00 referral fee.

:joke:

Be sure to check out Rise And Rule. One of the better mods out there, IMHO.

Its does alot more then just fix some bugs and add units. There are several conquest scenarios that are really fun plus it add more to the editor. Just naming a few extra things. On top of all of this, it comes with PtW expansion too if you don't have that.

It's so worth it.
Just funner to play with

:ninja:

(I'm just really obsessed with that smiley right now)
