You have convinced met that "**** you, ****-head" should be moderated, but how about "I think *insert name of nation* stinks"?

I agree that sometimes the moderation can be a bit more than what I'd do in the situation. However, I imagine the reason why "I hate [insert nationality]" isn't allowed is connected to the reason "**** you" isn't allowed: "I hate [nationality]" would probably quickly turn into a "**** you" fest, with very little useful content. Probably not, but I guess it's better to stop it before it starts. And even though I personally wouldn't give a crap about someone saying they hate America, I realize that some are more sensitive.

Intimate as in knowing better, rather then sexual, you pervert. Um, I mean, you really cool guy.

CFC's just a little to easy for the newb's to get lost into. I know I did. There's just too much. And after being in a smaller community, and being able to keep up with everything, it's a little intimidating to come here and not be able to do that. Of course, now I've learned how to look at what I want to see and not try and see everything.

To get back to Zultan's original questions - personally no I don't get bothered by insults or flame wars (and I used to be a mod/operater for a chat site so copped for a lot of abuse at times a quick kick or ban soon solved any problems).

However a lot of people do get personally bothered by insults on the net (either in chats or forums) and thats how major flame wars start and run and run and run and run.....

The modding here at CFC is good - there is nothing worse than trawling through pages after page of rants and insults to find anything useful and that is what would happen if the modding slipped a little - if I want that level of insults and silliness I'll watch the live broadcast from the Houses of Parliament!!!!

Good discussion is great - just as long as someone is around to ensure it doesn't sink into petty insults - bring on the mods.
