I have a request to Firaxis to include a non-IE civilization, the Dravidians of India in particular. I'm all for replacing a european IE country with one of the finno-ugric ones, since hungarian language survived BIG in an IE dominated place. This is the same case with Dravidian languages in India. We constitute more than 200 million people in India, having created some of the greatest empires in India in any terms you may use.

One of these is represented at polytheism technology by the Shiva bronze figure. You can find out more about us when you search for Chola empire and Vijayanagara empire in google. Still we were never represented by a Dravidian leader. This is inacceptable for anyone who knows the subject. India is a Union of States by our constitution, which values our differences the most - apparently more than Firaxis. India recognises 3 of the 4 large Dravidian languages as classical languages of India. Firaxis doesn't even think of recognising us. :cry:

Please CHANGE.

India is one of the civs to make it into civ5. Now you want to replace a European civ with a province of India. There is no pleasing some of you people.

That is no issue at all. We are all Indians. Europeans called Dravidians as Indians, when they were searching for pepper. But Dravidians have their own identities, their languages, their customs. We are a different set of people within India. There is an academic war, who founded the largest civilization in the world, which was the Indus civilization with Shiva and the controversial Swastikas found there. Western scholars agree, that it was a Dravidian civilization. A civilization, that was larger than ancient egypt, is neglected by Firaxis.

Of course, I'm not pleased. India was created in the 20th century, not earlier. Why should a country with 1 billion people be treated like a tiny european 1 million people country?

It is NOT neglected. It is in the game as part of India. We in the west consider you part of India, because you are part of India.

very well. then why all those native american civilizations? Dravidians are clearly neglected, even though they are organized in states with their own parliaments..

Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are considered part of India by Civilization. Now you want to a removed Native American Civ. Do you mean Aztecs or are you talking about Civ 2 or 3. There are no other Native American Civs in Civ5.

I was only comparing native americans with modern dravidian civilizations. They are no match to us. We did have dravidian presidents and premier ministers in India. What can native amercans provide in USA? Nothing..

There are no North American Native Civs in Civ 5. Your comparison is therefore completely irrelevant. My Civ is not in and it is clearly better than another Civ that is not in. Hmm.... I'm clearly breaking my Golden Rule.

I don't know which civilization you are representing here, but I'm pretty sure, it's not worth being mentioned anyway..

@Lobox

Watch this documentary about Dravidian empires:

The "lost" temples of India

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCHeeGpy4eo

They say in between "..where one of the greatest kings of India created one of the greatest building programs in the history of mankind.." and in the end they say "..Rajaraja Chola, the greatest Hindu king, that ever ruled.."

You are obviously one of the typical IE chauvinists neglecting Dravidian achievements.
