I think they are listed on when they arrived. The first to arrive in the forum is listed first. You see yourself last because you arrived last.

Seriously, I found out that your name is always last, when another "Z" member came before me, and that person's second letter wasn't an a.

No, it's pretty much been proven that it's in order of UserID #'s before (in some other thread from a little while ago). Or in order of join date (however you want to think of it, since UserID is dependant on join date). There are some exceptions, though, like Switch625, but they've been explained.

Yeah User ID#, just scroll your cursor over the list of mebers veiwing the the forum. Your will the ID#s in the bar at the bottom of the IE browser

(he wasn't always #1 - there were a few test and admin a/cs first )

You will note that 7 of the 9 ID#s before mine are admin or test IDs, with date before Oct.24.00 when the UBB was opened, and that #8 and #9, have a combined total of 3 posts.
