Why just one Golden Age?

Over the course of 6000 years a civilization may experience more than one "golden age". The current rules of GA triggers do not need to change substantially. Instead of a one-time only, there must be at least a 1000 year interval between them. So an early greek GA because a Hoplite kill would not totally eliminate the chance of one later from building a certain Great Wonder.

i just was think the same thing reading some other post but anyways this is a great idea but then u would need more specfic units for each civ

Not necesarily. I think that increasing UUs per civ makes it harder to balance the game, and also harder to pick a civ.

Remember that UUs are not the only ways to trigger a Golden Age.

I'm not convinced I really like the idea of a golden age. I mean, if you're doing good, you're in a golden age, aren't you?

I would rather have a production boost given during moments of nationalistic zeal, such as the early stages of war.

Golden Age in CIV has nothing to do with actual Golden Ages of Civilizations.

Its just a game feature.

True. The word "golden age" is something we've attached to certain periods of history to romanticize them. People didn't work harder to produce more or do anything differently. They are only identifiable in retrospect. But it is a concept that works well in the game. For example the great Greek military/cultural expansions of Alexander came after the greek cultural "golden age". In Civ, you build during your GA, and conduct your invasions after.

Golden Age in CIV has nothing to do with actual Golden Ages of Civilizations.

Its just a game feature.

Actually, there are *two* golden ages. One "basic" golden age, and one scientific golden age (That thanx to firaxis - does nothing )

If you look in threads related to rennaisance, you'll find what I think about a second golden age. I always thought a second golden age meant sense in the context of a nation taking a great leap forward, then laying dormant for a while, then having a return to greatness.

Frankly, I'd like to see this happen after a dark age... but hey, that's just me.
