 So I get my Civ 4 I install it and I am playing.Great finally.Long story short.Cd rom growls so I eject disk and what do I see.A nice preety scatch all the way around the outer edge of disk.No my cdrom won't read the disk.I just got it at 9:00a.m. this morning.I have reciept.Does anyone know if firax's or Best Buy will a disk due to a tragedy such as this??

Call the place where you bought it, and if you have the reciept, it shouldn't be a problem. What a bummer though...

Well atleast it was a pretty scratch. Boy, do I hate those ugly ones.
Somehow I got as small scratch on my civ4 which wouldn't install anymore (I was installing on another pc). Thanks to the Disc Doctor I was able to repair it. It also save socom2 and ffix before that so it paid for itself in the long run. If you just got it then you shouldn't have any trouble returning it. The sooner you return it the better.

Got to love that Disk Doctor. I tested it by actually scratching a disk with a knife (not important stuff of course) and it took out enough of the scratch to at least read it again.

Best buy ought to replace it, since you can show them the scratch and you're exchanging it for the same thing.

Most any retailer will give you a trade for the same title. I'd consdier getting a new CD-ROM though, also. If it chewed up one disk it is likely to chew up more (I had an X-Box kill 3 game disks before I realized what was going on).

One thing I would be real sure that you don't have a probleme with your CD-Drive. You would hate to get a new CD, stick it in there and have the same thing happen.

Some shops have certain restrictions on PC games, however i think this is more to do with recognising the specs of the games so in theory the shop should take your game back and re-imburse/replace it.

WHEEEEEEEEEEE.I T it in and they replaced it for free. Thanks again peeps.:goodjob:
