Yeah so I have made harbors for both capital city and a coast city which isn't link with capital yet, but it doesnt create the route for me... really pissed me off...

and what's up with the trade route has been broken thingy ? and its consequence and solution to fix it ? Thx in advance

Im quite suck doing Prince level on Huge Europe map. :]

Screenshots are helpful with these kinds of questions.

Also remember that trade routes are checked at the beginning of the turn, before building completes (like, say, the harbor).

The trade route doesn't actually begin until the turn after, because trade routes are checked before building for a given turn.

Note also that the trade route can be blocked by an enemy or barbarian ship that is near either harbour (iirc it's 2 hexes from the coastal harbour city).

Also, if there is an AI civ in the coastal path between the capital and the city you won't connect unless you have open borders pre-astronomy.

I have waited a turn and there were no barbarians nor enemies blocking the route. I was England and preparing for my long term invasion on Spain by settling 2 cities on top of it, I made harbors for both cities. And I also cleared the fog of war. My naval wasn't yet upgraded into Caravel so it's pretty much all the French coast and Spanish coast that I have cleared. I really don't get it. There were also some notifications saying my trade-route between the road connected cities and the capital are broken too ?? But the roads are still fine and there are still trade-route icons on the cities. WTH IS THIS ?D:

That "broken trade route" message is usually a bug. If your trade route income didn't drop and you don't see the little blockade symbol below the city name, it's probably that bug. Can you make a screenshot?

The way I read this sentence implies that you have not built a corresponding Harbor on your mainland in a coastline city connected to your capitol. The trade route between continents depends on a Harbor on both continents, one of which is connected to the Capitol.

And you also need to have a clear coastline/ocean path (no fog) between the capital and the second city. This is the most common reason why harbors 'don't work'.

I've also found the above is the most common reason why Harbors aren't connecting. There has to be a "known" ocean path between the second city and the capital.
