why they always pleased with each other?

now Im working at Monarchy level. I found some AIs always pleased with each other at the beginning at the game when they met and even they believe different god. for example, Rome and Spain. I glanced at the diplomacy, their relationship only +1:nuke:
another ridiculous thing is that if an AI with the starting tech of "mysticism", the AI will try to research all about religion techs, and most of the other AIs will believe its starting religion which made me so much hard to first get a religion and have to believe the same god with them:sad: This made the state religion owner rich and rich and no wars between AIs since they all pleased with each other or friendly

AIs also have hidden diplo modifiers. Basically, warmongers like each others, pacifists like each others and there are clashs between both groups :)

After this, religion adds of course.

Do they still have warmonger hugs warmonger modifiers? It just does not really make any sense.

It kind of does. Cause this way warmongers will try to attack non-warmongers, which makes more sense sinse they will probably have a higher chance to win. I mean if warmongers attacked each other we would have endless wars with ancient units while the rest of the world is building spaceship parts.

Yeah, you're right. I thought that bit soon after posting -- and of course warmongers tend to have big armies so they would be more unlikely to attack each other anyways.

What puzzles me is when the AI asks me to cancel deals with another AI in the ultra-early game.

I'm thinking "WTH? You just met and you hate him already?"

But sometime I'd like to see Monty and Gandhi be allies... or Genghis Khan and Mansa Musa or something, I mean why do they always have to be friends with their kind? I wouldn't mind seeing Shaka declare war on Genghis Khan either...

I think that there is something in the AI where they always have a "worst enemy" unless they are at least pleased with everyone they know (you know it is you when you get we will never trade with you our worst enemy). So if he just met someone that person could be the worst enemy.

Also unlike with you

The AIs not demanding free techs every 5 turns off each other or asking to join in wars right before they declare peace
Number of times they demand i declare war and then make peace with their hated enemy within 2-3 turns . .
So they all hate you because you have to keep saying no, but they like each other.

Worst thing was meeting a new civ and instantly having -4 for trading with worst enemy.

Its very annoying, if you explore the map early you meet more civs, all it means is more people wanting free techs and more people wanting you to cancel trades with each other.

I wish the diplomacy system was more transparent. There are lots of modifiers which arent even shown in-game.

I also remember this discussion coming up a couple of months ago in the context of the AI never warring with each other. I've seen several people say this is improved with BTS, but I haven't seen it. I've played 9 games so far, and am still amazed at the lack of hot AI vs. AI action.

In my current game, I've got -2 diplomacy with two AIs (Saladin and H.C.), and they are both annoyed with me. They each have -2 with each other and are pleased with each other. TANJ
H.C. likes Heriditary Rule, which both Saladin and I have. H.C. gives a +5 to Saladin for his choice in civics and gives me a +1. TSANJ

I have to completely agree with this. It's really annoying that Civs are constantly demanding you to join in a war with them or whatever. It makes it nearly impossible to have more than a couple good trading partners. And nothing is worse than meeting a Civ on another continent who demands you to declare war on their enemy on another continent. Besides having "nothing to gain" through the war, it's irritating that Civs are unable to figure out when a war has no impact or effect on you, and you should just be left out of it.

Really? I've played games where the AI civs are constantly at each other's throats.

Yeah, it's really frustrating, because my brother has the game and gets the same thing - several AI wars a game. I've tried picking agressive AI, and the most aggressive leaders. Usually they just war with me though.

In the rare instance I'm seeing AI vs. AI battles, it appears nothing happens. The stack marches into the opponent's territory, and then just sits there. Weird.

AIs also take advantage of others at war

In my last game France invaded America, even though they both strong, France took most of America.

Then their neighbours declared on france and stole the new cities, which caused the other neighbour to declare as well

So America was pushed off the continent to a few island and France was crushed from both sides. So i snuck in with a fleet and declared war on one of the neighbours, Germany and stole some of the former American cities

AI loves tactical nukes as well, they like to start wars by nuking people :nuke:

Sometimes the AI hugging each other behaviour could be very annoying. Yesterday I played Huayna and wanted a Space victory. Yet I didn't neglect my army and had power ranking #1 for at least 50 turns. Still I gave in to every demand, including a nice 820 GP to Montsy on another continent. I had free religion to avoid religon conflicts. Montsy was +6 with me and didn't even had open border with most other AIs except one because he was the only guy with Buddhism. Yet he decided to declare war on his closest friend! Sending in his weak cannons/longbows/macemen to fight my packs of infantries on another continent! I know it's Montsy, still.... even a mad dog wont' pick the hardest bone to chew. Why didn't he attack Churchill, who is number 6 in power-ranking, is his neighbour and has annoyed him? I really don't understand.
