Why won't my files upload?!?!

Lately in two incidents for some reason when I try to use the easy upload feature the file doesn't show up. I have uploaded files successfully before but in these cases I get no results. Then a *few days later*, the file magically appears again. Does it take a few days to upload or something?

When I try to use the easy file upload system from my home computer, I am never successful. It says it has completed, but the files never show up. I have tried all of the suggestions I could find, including waiting and checking the case, and nothing works. I also tried disabling my firewall, which allowed me to send files over MSN messenger (I had previously been unsuccessful at this), but did not help my easy file upload system woes.

I can upload successfully from my girfriend's computer though, which is on the same cable modem...

I had the exact same problem myself and now I'm looking for the answer to the question. Is it a problem these days with the upload system or what?

I've never put any picture but now I'd like to but it doesn't seem to work. I got the upload message but the file isn't there. I'm still wondering is it something I do wrong? I chaged the file name 3 times because I thought I don't see it but it wasn't there.

Sometimes, if you have a space, comma, and all caps for the extension, the file won't show.

Thx.

I'll try tonight even if I don't recall having any of those.

Thanks, that must be why mine often don't show.

You know this is EXTREMELY frustrating.

I have also been having this same problem, and what's most annoying is that I've been able to upload files in the past, but trying the last couple of days I just can't get it to work, no matter what I do.

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG??

I'm trying to upload a file, and here are the variations in name that I've used:

24 Civs.jpg
24_civs.jpg
24_Civs.jpg
24-Civs.jpg
twentyfourcivs.jpg

Each time I attempt to upload the file I get the message that says, "Your file has been successfully uploaded", but then looking through the uploads2 files IT'S NOT THERE.

What's the deal?

Not that I'm glad that others are having this problem, but at least it's minutely comforting to know that it's not my own computer incompetence that's to blame. Or is it?

I am having the exactly same problem.

Is there anywhere else I can upload my files to so I can use the URL?

File extension is also important... It may not work for all upper case extensions... If the extention is .JPG, change it to .jpg and it might work....

I am going to create a new upload folder today... :)

Thanks, Thunderfall, but i have checked that already... no good.

Despite I could not do it in the explorer, I managed to open the uploads2 screen in Opera, and I checked for my files... they are simply not there.

there must be something wrong with the upload feature...

Thanks Ainwood and Padma, but those are definitely not the problem. The file does not show up. I could only entertain the notion that I was an idiot/ignorant for so long before I realized that it wasn't me - the files are not there.

So like FredLC and Cantankerous, I am looking for reasons why the file does not get uploaded, even though it says it has.

I have tried turning off my firewall

I have tried eliminating spaces, hyphens, and underscores in file names

I have tried capitalizing and not capitalizing both the filename and the extension

I have tried waiting

I was able to successfully upload a file that previously seemed unwilling to cooperate by changing the file extension from .JPG to .jpg.

But that was only one time, and I haven't tried uploading any other files in the meantime.

So maybe there is something to the capitalization (or lack thereof) of the file extension.

But that doesn't explain Sparrowhawk's problem though.

Padma:

I wish it was so simple. The files don't show up in any of the folders. When I first started having this problem, there were only two folders anyway, and I always checked the right one first...
