This is surely the strangest war I ever saw.
An event happened to me where my decision gave me a +1 towards all civs with the same religion as I had (about 2/3 of the civs) and a -3 with Ramses, who declared war on me.
The next turn Elisabeth wanted me to declare war on one of my friends. I said no. The turn after everyone declared war on me. Everyone. Even my friendly friends. And when I checked up why they were upset (my "friends") with me, the only thing they had against me was this war. Besides that only “green” opinions about me. And it wasn’t I who started it.
I don’t understand.
Anyone?

The resident of the AP has the power to pass resolutions to vote. One of these consist of attacking a civ which has not, in any city, the AP religion.

If this resolution passes, every civ with at least one city of the AP religion declare war to the "infidel". Friendly or Furious.

So...If I don't have the "right" religion, this will come without a warning?
I have to check Ramses religion and if I don't have any city with his state religion.
So much for friends. My time will come...sweet is the revenge.

Check this one out. More or less the same thing. I am playing a Tiny Terra Map with 14 players... YEAH IT'S CRAZY!!! Anyway, so I was doing ok, destroyed a couple civs to giv myself some room. I get the radom event that one of my nobles eloped with a Viking princess but the ceremony was in the Christian way of doing things. It gave me some options, but I chose the one that gave me +1 with all Christian leaders and a -3 to Ragnar... BOOM he immediatly declares war on me, and his buddy Ceasar follows suit (Crazy Jews). So I march my armies into Rome which was closer than Viking territory and finally get peace with the two. They are both hurt badly in the war, and now I have twice the army with twice the promotions... Just goes to show you God was on my side... HAHAHA
