Widescreen?

I do not see the option to set my resolution to widescreen inside Civ IV. Does anyone know if there is a way to get this to work? I've heard all it takes are a few registry settings in other games that do not support it "out of the box."

I'm playing the game at 1920x1200 (16:10) and it runs perfectly on my ATI 9800 Pro. There's no specific option for widescreen, just select a widescreen resolution and all should be fine.

Yeah, you should have a widescreen res available in video options if you are using a widescreen monitor. I was able to set mine to 1440x900 on my laptop. If for some reason it isnt you can also set a custom resolution in the civilization.ini file in My Documents\My Games\Civilization IV (or whatever you called the civ install directory).

One thing i noticed is that after upgrading my ATI drivers i had more choices in the resolution list in the options of Civ IV, including the widescreen ones.

Drivers!!! Since Civ IV worked out of the box with my ATI card, I did not bother to get the latest. The dropdown for resolution only had 1024x768 (my monitor is widescreen, but does not support many resolutions).

I'll try updating my drivers.
