This seems to be completely random. The only correlation is that so far, it has only happened either when I tried to go into a city, or tried to change the production of a city. It happens fairly rarely, but is still enough to be annoying. It just closes completely, with absolutely no warning whatsoever. It just happens in the blink of an eye: one second I'm clicking, the next I'm looking at my web browser. There isn't even one of those stupid little "send info to microsoft" popups you usually get when something crashes. I have 1.29f with the DyP mod over it, so I don't know if it's a problem with the patch or the mod, or something else. Has anyone else ever experienced this?

Yeah, happens to me too, but very rarely like you say.
It happens in a few other games aswell, some more often than Civ3, some less.
BTW - this has happened when I have had Civ3 + PTW installed and still after I installed Conquests.

Its happened to me too; however, when it happens my computer has usually been on for five to six hours. It may happen when the computer over heats because it has happened while I was playing other games.
I never have problems. I have 1 server at home, and 1 laptop which have been on for at least 2-3 weeks, and both play CivIII. However the server which has CivIII 1.07f may indicate a memory leak somehow. When the system is already heavy (dual cpu 1.44G, 512M), I just quit the game and restart it. However, the CivIII 1.29f seems has no memory leak issue (running on my laptop)

It also happens to me sometimes: the game crashes and my computer resets, it's VERY annoying. Sometimes (in my new PC), the screen flickers. When I play in the older PC, it runs absolutely fine.
