My computer made a weird noise, i mean in my 14 years with them i've never heard this before and it came out of no where i was doing nothing but browsing the internet and listing to music so i restarted my computer to see if it would start. Well no luck it was doing it again so i shut it down this time and the noise did stop this time, but does anyone know what it was, i've never heard anything like it before i'll attach a file, sorry its kinda quite but my phone was to far from the computer.

can you describe more? from the speakers or from the case? a speaker noise is usually either you picked up a bad file or your speakers are picking up a stray signal from someplace. a case noise is usually a fan going bad.

It's hard to tell from that, but it sounds like a fan. Open your case and slow each fan with your finger. If the noise stops, that's the one. If not, could be the hard drive, in which case you should back up your files immediately and start shopping for a new drive. Hopefully it's a fan.

Mostly likely a fan whose bearing or bushing is starting to go or is perhaps clogged with dust. Could also be something like a HDD or optical drive whose mounting screws have loosened slightly so that they can vibrate.

If it was your HDD dieing, it'd be a pretty obvious and obnoxious grinding noise.
