I've just reinstalled my copy of civ 4 complete and discovered that I no longer have permission to play it. I am running BTS version 3.19, however, whenever i go to start the game I get an error message saying "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
I've tried reisntalling multiple times, updating directx runtime components, running and updating in adminitrator mode, moving the files from the dvd into a folder on the desktop and installing from there, but so far nothing seems to work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Solved by installing the game into My Documents. Seems to be the solution for a lot of Windows 7 problems.
