Ok. I have some files that require DivX to play (a codec). When it expires, I went to regedit and found all divx and 3ivx files(the program with divx) and deleted them. It's worked before and let me reinstall it after 30 days. This time however, WMP won't play anything. I get an error message about an unknown error and when I click more information it gives me a link to here and says: Error ID = 0xC00D11CD, Condition ID = 0x00000000.
Can anyone help?

0xC00D11CD means "Unknown Error".

It means there're more than removing DivX's registry entries to reinstall DivX after it expires. Some references aren't correct which Media Player doesn't expect to happen. So it dies and tells you it doesn't know what's wrong.

If the free package of DivX won't play your files, how about buying DivX?

you don't need the commercial version of the DivX-Codec to play DivX-Movies, there are plenty of decoders that do this. you can download a codec-pack that comes with the most common codecs, for example.

Personally I'm using the K-Lite Codec Pack

futhermore, even the official DivX-Codec is free, you might just have the wrong version (propably the pro-version, you could just download the free version on divx.com).

Thank you so much!!! It actually works now. WMP will play. But the main reason I got DivX is to play Emilie Autumn's Across the Sky from here and at the top is a link to the divx codec. I can play the movie on VLC media player but not WMP or anything else. can you help?
