Anyone know how to change the background of the startup screen when you log in? I just got a new pc at work, and HP has some dorky page on the login screen. I changed the admin screen background, but that didn't change the login screen.

But isn't there something in the registry or someplace that would determine that? It's a brand new PC, and I'm sure HP didn't buy a license for that.

The login screen is actually an exe file. But there might be something in the registry you could try and look for.

What version of Windows is it? Most earlier versions the file was called IO.sys which can be deleted but not sure about more recent versions. (it was logo.sys not IO.sys which I edited for other purposes... also think it was win2000 not 98 as well)

EDIT: Apparently alot more complex than the last time I did it, (Win 98 I believe) here are some directions for WinXP http://www.iamnotageek.com/a/17-p1.php

EDIT 2: I shouldn't post when I'm tired... the HP splash screen should be disableable in the BIOS, not sure how well the company like you messing with BIOS settings but that's where it is.

EDIT 3: Ignore my whole post as Im talking branded splash screen and windows loading screen.

EDIT 4: http://logonloader.danielmilner.com/ something like that?
