Is there a way to turn off this annoying message? I don't use wireless and even if I do, I don't need that message popup everytime. All I need is that indicator in the System Tray.

If you don't use it at all you can just disable it.

Start>Run and enter "devmgmt.msc"

Look under Network Adapters, One should say something about Wireless Networking Controller. Right click on it and select Disable.

If you ever do want to use it, repeat the same process except you will have an option to Enable it.

Go to the properties for your Wireless Connection. At the bottom, uncheck both the two check boxes.

that will not be enough... he will need to disable controller in device manager. other options is to disable baloon tips but that is not easy to do

Or you can just disable the wireless network connection from the Network Connections window (right click on the connection you want to disable, and choose "Disable").

This is what I use on my laptop.

Disabling the connection just disables the NIC, same as doing it through device manager. I guess it's an easier way though :p

Guess I will just live with that stupid balloon message, since I do use wireless when not at home.

Well, you get rid of the balloon tip. I have three network ports on my desktop, and I disable the two I don't use so I don't have to see the two icons in the system tray telling me they're not connected. I hate useless and unnecessary icons, no matter where they are.
