wonder building on Emperor

For the life of me, I could not come up with a way to get over 7 gold per tile, and that was roaded mountains with either gems or gold on a river. Colossus and whales, maybe? Can whales be in coastal squares? But as I think back on it, tourist income made a big difference.

Which was another reason I switched back to vanilla. It was just too easy to screw the AI by taking his long-standing wonder after making a big GPT deal. The first time it was accidentally, since I had no idea what other GPT trades he had going.

Roaded, river, gems jungle (cut down), colossus, golden age, republic/demo= 9 gold per tile, but you won't have that in all squares. Gold could work, but not enough food since hills and mountains are needed. Although you would be coastal for colossus, so maybe mix in some fish, which add 1 commerce I think.

Whales cannot be coastal, only sea.

You play vanilla when you could play conquests??? That seems odd to me, but whatever floats your boat.

Here is a picture of Ur. I'm getting tourist income from 5 wonders. This isn't, in my opinion, a super science city - I'm reasonably sure I've seen screenshots with 700-ish bpt. I looked around a little bit in the screenshot thread, but haven't found any yet.

I'm happy to oblige you CKS. If someone really wanted to do some calculation, for the slower finish of those two screenshots you could approximate how many beakers I had on each turn, I think (or at least get close to figuring this out), via my notes in post #99 on, if you know how to figure the tech cost for each tech on a Tiny Chieftain map, which I know exists around here somewhere.
