Wonders and Uniqu Features Design

its directly north of the DE capital, between the glaciers in the north and mountains of Mourn in the south. you need to get past it to enter tha land bridge to Cathay.

Ok, I think I see it. It's the Standing Stones with all that Chaos Waste around it, right? Maybe you should mark that for the next patch.

thats the one. i actually did have all the features labled before, but deleted most of the lables because i got carried away with the signposting, made the map waaaayyy too cluttered :p

ill add most of the signs in when i get the time :)

Airight, sounds good, man. Peace.

So, I'm slighty confused. Is there any way someone could highlight the wonders that'll be used in the next release (Kinstrife, yes?). Or all the wonders gonna be used in the final version? Could someone tell me wat's up?

Also, could someone list off wat the wonders would do? That'd allow us players to see which ones we're likely to build, based off of our own personal preferences of course. Thanks.

well currently a lot of wonders arnt implemented, if you have eny good ideas for wonders that seem balanced, flavourful and would enhance the game, please post them! ill transfer any ideas we come up with to the first post.

Ok, so most of the stuff isn't done yet as far as wonders. Airight, makes sense. Thanks.

how about the Libre Chaotica as an equipment wonder? Every unit built in the city has +20% vs chaos but a promotion that gives a 5% chance of converting to chaos and a 95% chance of being removed the following turn. when carried by a wizard it boosts his power but he gets a 1% chance of being corrupted and turning to chaos every turn.

or the Book of Grudges, dwarf only.

Book of Grudges could maybe give a +5% sconing bonus against previous enemies of war, or enemies you are at war with ("you declared war on us"). Or even a +10% bonus when they raze one of your cities ("you razed one of our cities" blab in diplomacy). Maybe something like that.

Or maybe make it the opposite and make it benefit Chaos.

Thanks LOL.. were you being ironic, I just noticed each Spy Network alone is something like +8:espionage: and +50%. :crazyeye: And the world's not exactly "overflowing" with sewers till pretty late in the game.. Maybe +3:espionage: +1:gold: +1:science: per, or whatever balances out.

For The Book of Grudges, how about getting some bonus each time a Dwarven unit from the owning civ is killed in combat? Maybe +1 exp to the unit carrying the Book up to a certain limit.

Ideally though we'd want the Grudge to be something that would harm the enemy but not till pretty far into the future. It could have a chance to trigger a delayed negative event for the attacking civ, or give a negative Grudge Bearer promotion to attacking units that killed a Dwarf (ie a very small % chance per turn of dying outright.)

Or maybe, it could allow creation of a Grudge; this would be a special unit that has an icon of a Dwarven rune, is invsible to those without See Hidden, moves *very slowly* (flying, no transport, no benefit of roads), and would gradually creep toward enemy territory where it could do some mischief by using any Spy action at discounted cost before vanishing.

LOL I imagine these could all be a pain to code.. it could just do something like inflict minor damage to attacking units that killed a Dwarf.

haha i didnt even look at the numebr of espionage points from spy networks... lol ok so it isnt overpowered :p

Book of grudges: id like it if any unit built in the city gets the 'grudge bearer' promo, which would be great if it gave +30% strength vs any civ that declared war on the owners civ. (not if the owners civ declared war on the other civ, that would be too easy an exploit)

How about Awakening of the Great Maw, a unique Wonder for the Ogre Kingdoms (ie requires Tyranny and Insatiable Hunger). To build, it would require one of every single food resource in the game (and maybe several others like Beer, Wine and Horses). This would be hard enough to achieve and maintain that it could be a unique victory condition for the Ogres, essentially allowing them to start devouring the world.

Alternatively, it could spawn The Great Maw as a very powerful slow-moving unit; or it could have a simpler fixed benefit like +4:food: in each Ogre city, -2:food: in all other cities, and/or double XP from units killed in combat (from eating them!). This could also be implemented as a unique Ritual if rituals and/or Gut Magic are implemented eventually.

(BTW kairob's right, the Book of Grudges is already in as the shrine of the Ancestor Gods; it could always be made a separate Wonder later though)

id much rather the great maw be a unique feature, giving no food to the tile, and possibly unhealthyness, but significant happyness with the greenskins religion, as well as a military production bonus to the city... maybe let units built in the city with the maw in its radius start with the 'cannibal' promotion which heals them slightly after combat (from eating the slain)
