Someone here commented that tiles worked by city get animation going on with them, in which video is that seen?

Civ 5 map felt so static after Civ 4, glad if we get more life to cities.

I remember in civ 4 there was some animations and life signs on worked tiles - i can't say i noticed anything similar in the preview videos of civ vi so far - and i was looking for something like that. In my opinion that is a must, it's so nice to actually see working tiles, especially since they went with graphics paradigm where you supposed to see everything what is going on the map even if you zoom out.

You could see an example of it here.

A deadish, yellowish lookin farm is worked and becomes a lot more verdant. Verdant is a word I used instead of green for some reason.

Presumably the smoke from the mines/quarries, birds around the holy site, activity in the lumber mill, are all signifiers of a worked tile.

Very cool. :)

I loved that in cIV. Civilization 5 felt so sterile in response. The art and graphics were pretty decent but without the bustle and bustle it felt lifeless.

Civ VI is shaping up to be a great improvement on the last iteration. :)

Thanks for the link--that looks fantastic. :D

Doesn't Civ5 already do this? It seems to be inconsistent because the game always has graphic bugs for me, but I'm pretty sure farms already change color if you're working them.

Farms don't change color in Civ V. Visual distinction between a worked and unworked tile was a feature in Civ IV that was sorely missed in Civ V.

But it terms of actual animation, I haven't seen any, except for smoke from chimneys. This may be because it's an early build -- even the wheel on the Water Mill doesn't turn.

Oil derricks pump, lumber mills cut wood, firds fly over Holy Sites, birds fly over fishing boats, lumber mill windmills turn in the wind, carousels spin, horses eat hay, etc etc. Dunno what any of tha might mean, but there's a decent amount of animation visible in the latest videos.

The lumber mills are pretty clearly operational. Etc.

It's definitely indicative of whether the tile is worked or not, You can see here when it stops panning, one of the the lumbermill's windmills and saw are not moving, yet the one a few tiles above it is. There are a lot of subtle differences between tiles too; Such as farms having crops or being empty depending on whether they're worked, etc.
