Is no one paying attention to our Workers? Last turn chat I had to point out how our President had 3 Workers clearing Jungle next to our Capital Fanatikku, when that city already had a 4 food surplus. It was decided that the hills next to the ctty should be mined. Instead CT took those three Workers and irrigated the Flood Plains next to the hills. Fanatikku still has 4 food surplus. Finally the workers have been moved onto the hills. One mine could be finished already and the next one close to being done.

You all said what a priority getting those Silks up around Windurst was and how we needed to do all this important work to get them quickly. CT has used 4 Workers to clear a Jungle NW of Sto'vo'kor and has now moved those same 4 Workers to the next Jungle tile to clear that. Why aren't we building roads to the Luxs? Wouldn't that be the most practical thing to do? No, let's clear Jungle in the Ancient Age... You people really don't see this?

How about the Workers in Immo, who are continually building mines when they have a forest and 2 mines currently unused? This goes on and on, people. But none of you will say anything, huh. That something. That's really something.

Plus the Iron still hasn't been mined. Mining an Iron tile in a city right next to a Capital should have been a high priority. But no. We're clearing Jungles and irrigating Flood plains. Can any of you see why this is being done?

It strikes me that workers are an integral part of the game, and very very important to our success, yet the WOTP is only vaguely factored into the worker movements. Is there a way of rectifying this? Perhaps each governor could post a list of the top 5 worker actions (eg "Build a road from Fanatikku to Immo" or "Connect the gems to Fukuwara" or "More resource improvements for Zozoji." What do people think? Another option would be to create deputy governor positions and make them responsible for worker movement within their province?

President has authority to do with the workers as he finds best. I believe Chieftess would accept suggestions if they are proposed.
Call the governors to suggest what to do around their cities as you did for Zojoji. Its kinda hard to do all things right with all these instructions and 16+ workers.

We need to institutionalize which worker actions (groups of three) should do, and maybe even poll them. When a hill is not mined, the direct outcome will be that a wonder city will not be a wonder city. The allocation of workers may indirectly overrule polled decisions by the people, and we need to have workers as integral in our debates and polling as our city localization threads.

Yep, my mistake. You only put one Worker clearing Jungle outside of Fanatikku. That was at least as far back as 490bc:

Then in 290bc I asked the Governor why we were doing this, but the Domestic Advisor took charge and went to the Presidential thread to ask You why we were doing this. Then Provo came on to ask the same thing to which you replied harshly.

Unfortunately, you had already spent ten turns clearing Jungle in a city that had 6 surplus food not 4 as I said above. So after it was decided to build mines instead of clearing Jungle, you brought in two more Workers and combined them with the one that was clearin Jungle to Irrigate the Flood Plains. Fanatikku had grown and I suppose because of Laborer adjustment, the food surplus went down to 4. That's 4 extra food, CT. And you are Irrigating Flood Plains while were using two unmined hills.

We could be using the Forest you have Immo stealing from the Capital (as Immo has another Forest and two mines). Now in 90 bc, you finally have workers on a hill ready to build a mine. Unfortunately 400 years have passed (at a minimum). Fanatikku could have 4 more shields than it presently does.

All I'm saying is we are wasting Fanatikku's resources, as well as Zojoji's. Right now we have 18 cities and 15 Workers. Soon our Worker ranks will double with all the slave Workers we capture in war. So we have plenty of Workers. Let's use them efficiently. You say "Besides, right now, I'm trying to get all of our cities connected, and clearing land for cities that need it." But you have Four Workers clearing Jungle outside of Sto'vo'kor (1 tile has already be cleared and your working on a second) when that city will outgrow the production on the Temple and become unhappy. But you want more growth in that city, while denying other cities the Silks just a few tiles to the NW.

We need the luxs, as you are against building happiness Wonders. We have 5 cities on the verge of unhappiness because of growth. Stop clearing Jungle in the Ancient Age and bring us the Silks.

You are also building mines in Immo when they have unused excess shields already. So mining there is not needed. You say "Besides, right now, I'm trying to get all of our cities connected, and clearing land for cities that need it." but you're clearing Jungle where no food is needed, you're irrigating Flood Plains where no food is needed, you're building Mines where no shields are needed. Plus you are neglecting our two main production powerhouses, Fanatikku and Zojoji. What's going on here?

I also don't understand why the plain near Odawara is being worked on (it's growing fast enough, it doesn't need that plain to be irrigated), why the plain without a cow near Regent Town is being worked on, or why the desert near Immo is being worked on. Shorin-Ryu is also using some unimproved tiles. And I haven't mentioned what has previously been mentioned.

What's since been removed? And I didn't call you a lier. That's an acronym for Laboring In Escapism. I believe we're making this game a lot harder than it has to be.

I checked out what you referenced, TimBentley, and you're right. I am pretty busy in this game, doing a lot of other things. That's why I don't have time to check on other cities. I only check mine and the ones around me. That's why the Mods call me names. They think I worry about only me. But like I said, I have too much to do.

In your references, the plain near Odawra shouldn't have a worker irrigating it. It's not needed. Odawara has so much food, more irrigation won't be needed for a while.

Why we took the Workers around the NW side of the Mountain by Reggent Town is beyond me. If it's to bring irrigation around that way so the Romans can steal the water, yeah, I can see it. But it would have been much better to have brought the irrigation around the SW side of the mountain where a road already exists.

I already pointed out the silliness of having the 2 or 3 Workers building mines in the deserts of Immo when they have an unused forest and two other mines there (see above). They have three wheats there, so irrigating a desert tile would really be useless at this time (maybe closer to railrods).

And with all the Workers we have, you're right. Shorin-Ryu is using too many unimproved tiles, that's probably why they're stealing one of Zojoji's.

So you see my point. Good. I'm hoping we can get this straightened out. Stop clearing Jungle in the Ancient Age! Bring us the Silks!

My view, Our capital will always be one of our strongest cities, currently there is 5 tiles that has been worked, there are 7 citizens inside of that city. Fanatikku will need the extra production/food, even the extra commerce might help alittle. Zojoji also needs to have some tiles worked around it.

I propose that we set some of the workers on automatic or create an entire department just to handle workers. The more numerous they become the more arguments will break out over where they should go.

Actually, the jungle SHOULD have been finished, the city doesn't need food as much as it needs production, and that mined grassland would have been nice. Also, we lost, what? 10 turns because of that worker move?

Oh well, it's been done already so nothing we can do about it. Of course I really don't see the reasoning behind it.
