I am really enjoying being able to play and not need 100 or more workers as I did in C3C...
but I still find that my 6 to 12 workers have times of nothing to do.. they stay asleep until I can build lumber mills, and then sleep again till oil or railroad.. and then... I usually end up roading and railroading every plot just to fill time..
I don't automate them as they want to cut every tree in the kingdom.. not a good plan for health..
Simple questions..
Do they carry a maintenance cost.. should I disband them ? is there anything I can do since I don't think I can add them to the pop of a small city or gain any hammers or anything.. unless I've just missed it somehow..

Anyone have any ideas on what to do with them after they have served their purpose, can they be turned into engineers or something?

Thanks..

Hehe... my workers take the same naps yours do. Although it sounds like you use more workers than I do. During these downtimes, I usually cut back to about 1 worker for every 2 cities.

I too would like to know for sure if they carry a maintenance cost. I believe they do.

build more cities, then your workers will always have stuff to do

Am I missing something, or does it say somewhere how much maintenance a unit requires?

Is it something as simple as 1unit=1gold or what?

Go to the finance window and hover your mouse on Unit Support, it'll give you a breakdown on the unit cost.

You get free support for military units (3 at the start I think?) and free support for all units (a crapload more, like 10+ free or something - so that gives you quite a few free non military units support)

Just looked at the financial advisor for the first time.

Most of the entries are self-explanatory... but "Inflation Rate = 19%"? WTH? Anyone know what kind of formula drives that?
