Announcing World At War! (1900 - 1950) V1.02

The updates are complete, and uploaded to my new site (sorry about the popups). I've attached the readme folder to this post.

Install procedure:
1. CTP2 (well DUR!)
2. Official Activision patch v1.1 or v1.11.
3. Modswapper. (Available at http://apolyton.net/ctp2/files )
4. Three zip files (pics/sprites/texts).

Run Modswapper and select World At War!

Known issues:
- The Global Library is not complete. Don't use it. Sorry. Read the design notes and readme to find out what everything does. (I will post the Great Library when it's finished.)
- Barbs seem to be spawning illegal units. If this bothers you in this version, delete them from cheat mode. (Fix being worked on)

Notes:
- The AI is very aggressive. It ICS's, builds heaps of military units, and will try to eliminate you. This MOD is very agressive.
- There are only 600 turns. But these turns are action-packed, aggressive and testing for the human (well I thought so).

Hi Dale,
Just started my second game of WAW this morning(feel recoverd enough to try again).Poly is down and the odd post here is nice to do i think.
Setup 8 civs,VeryHard,BarbsRoaming.
Went for a weird world. Max : Oceans/Islands/Hot/Wet/Diversity/goods.

So far three other civs, all on Islands with room for about 3-4 decent Cities.So that makes it more 'even',the down side is i have to go to war(and win) to expand any more:( . I want peace dammit;) To be left alone and build my nice little kingdom in safety.Maybe i need a WAP version?

Dale turn 89(game No.3), zipped save game to try. I get a crash to desktop(like when you use the science manager) from trying to pillage the advanced farm, left from when i absorbed an Irish city into my empire.
The message and options when you take a city are IMHO a bit confusing in that 'Absorb' destroys a city and moves some of the population to your nearest city,but doesn't reduce your reputation? compared to 'Bloodbath' where the city and all population are destroyed and your reputation is hurt? If this is right its just a guess on my part as it doesn't really tell you that.(And if its nothing to do with you/someone else's work, i apologise:D ). Anyway i'm enjoying it very much and like the quote on your website:cool:

Okay, it looks to be that the problem stems from the fact that the TI after absortion has no "owner", being in the middle of no-where. I loaded up the original CTP2 settings, destroyed a size 1 city with TI's, tried to pillage one after the border was gone, and guess what...............

Crash to desktop.

So it looks to be inherit in the game, but I wonder if we could put our heads together and find a solution. :)

Lets hope poly is up soonish and it can be sorted there......i don't think i can be much help to you and maybe locutus has called it a night(around 3:30am were he is i think?). Actually that's not a bad idea.........
One other thing, on the science advances - there seems alot of advances for further advances(!) in the early stages without seeming to do/give you much in terms of buildings/units that kind of thing? I'll admit that it's got to be difficult due to the games turn span(per month) - but it's a bit frustrating to research something that will open new avenues of science, just to get another one(and another!).Around turns 30-70 it seems? Whats your thoughts on this? got to sleep, see you on poly:)
 
Just want to announce the MOD's new release which fixes all bugs to date, and increases the AI yet again.

Personally, I'd like to see if anyone can beat this MOD on impossible/bloodlust victory. ;)
