After posting this topic also in the Multiplayer board, I decided people probably knew more about the topic here. About what? About this:

Hello. I've searched high and low, and everybody says it (using World Builder in Multiplayer, in my case, Hot Seat) can't be done along with various rants about cheating, which I can understand, but I know someone at least has played a Hot Seat game with World Builder enabled. I also thought of simply using a custom map in Single Player and change every AI into a Human Player (via the map file) but I didn't see any option for that. So, if anyone knows, how can I play as all players with World Builder enabled. I want it to do something like that Civilizations III story called Global, but then on an Earth map of Civilizations IV Beyond the Sword.

I shall thank you full of oil.

Replace thank by tank. :P

Anyway, does anyone know how I can do what I want to do? There is a tool here in the downloads section that allows one to change civilizations, before anyone mentions it. However, it only allows that 3 times per turn and is needless complicated.

If you mean what I think you mean, that would mean saving 34 times per turn (or whatever the maximum amount of civilizations is). Seeing as I'm going to play much slower than Marathon (to create all kinds of nice battles and whatever), that wouldn't strike me as the best idea. But, what do you have in mind?

Well? It can't be that hard to modify the game so that World Builder is accesable (spelling?) in Hot Seat, can it? I mean, I've seen a lot of mods who add whole new game concepts and things, so...

I have played my RtW scenario in Hot-Seat mode. It takes ages for each turn, but you have more control. I have initially modded my scenario via worldbuilder, but then continued to play in Hot-Seat mode.

After discovering this mode of play quite recently, it works perfectly for RtW, where you can control a whole block of countries like the AXIS (i.e. Germany, Italy, Minor Axis Allies etc.) or Allies (i.e. America, England, Minor Allied allies, etc.).

NOTE: I have not done world builder during the game-play.

But I want to create and delete units in game, which is impossible, as World Builder isn't enabled. Yeah, I could use a savegame editor, and spend a whole day on 1 turn...

I think I justread today that the Chipotle cheat allows you to add and delete units have no idea if it works in hot seat though

Well, it didn't work for me...

Once again, can anyone help?

how did you get the idea to create and delete units every gameturn in game????? you can program this by python before the session begins.

Not every game turn, but say, for example, I let the Celts conquer Europe. Then the Aztecs invade, their army is destroyed by the Celts, but various Celtic cities want to be independent instead of living under the oppressive, technological backwards tyranny of the Celts. Thus, the Spanish, Portugese, Dutch, etcetera are created. For which I of course need World Builder.

Well, seeing as nobody knows any tool, could someone perhaps merge the following 2 CvGameCoreDLL's? I didn't know that was possible, as I already had seen this tool in the download database but, seeing as it replaced my 40 civilizations .dll, hadn't downloaded it. However, before that mod is usefull, I need to be able to change my civilization an unlimited amount of time, and I need to be able to change into any civilization, wether discovered or not...Anyway, if one can make that, here are the .dll's:

The one from here:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=13191

And this one:
http://rapidshare.com/files/387555620/CvGameCoreDLL.dll.html

I have already tried to merge them on my own, but alas, it didn't work. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could merge them, as this program did work when I tried it without my 40 civilizations .dll. But, again, only with the changes mentioned above it would be usefull to me.

And sorry for all those double posts. I really think there should be some option besides editing or quoting a post, bumping a topic by simply pressing a button. Of course, this should only be available to not spamming, well behaving members...But that's really off topic. Once again, thanks in advance.

Well, yet another shameless bump... I know, this double posting and triple posting isn't allowed, but well, it's better than creating a new topic in my opinion. And it's been half a year since the last post, which reminds me, thread necromancy is also not allowed. Oh well...

To sum it up, I want Hot Seat with World Builder enabled. Or whatever, as long as I can control any civilization (and I want all civilizations (which requires a custom .dll)) on the (Earth) map and use the World Builder. Something like what's going on here ( http://www.planetrea.com/reath/index.html ), who is the same guy that also made the Civilizations III story 'Global', which does the same (but on a smaller scale).

Anyway, I hope that finally someone can help, although I don't think so... But really, a small mod or something should be able to enable the World Builder while playing Hot Seat, right?

Thanks in advance, and once again, sorry for my double posting, triple posting, and necromantic powers.

Unfortunately I can't help you with your actual request, but I am curios about what sort of editing of the game situation you need to do. Because using the WB might not be the best option to begin with - albeit a comfortable one - but at the same time pretty limited in its scope.

Do you know about the Python console? Can that be accessed in Multiplayer? (Probably not, but I thought it would be worth a try, at least.)

No, I don't know about a Python console... I'll look it up. What I want to do is...

Well, I'll play on an Earth map, with all civilizations, and remove them all except for the Sumerians. I play some time with them, then I put the Egyptians on the map, China, Babylonia, et cetera. Eventually, perhaps, the Mongols conquer Europe. And then the Mayas invade and conquer Europe back. And then the native inhabitants of Europe (Rome, France, Germany, the Netherlands, et cetera) revolt, and take back their cities (so, they were defeated, but I put units of them back on the map, and with them, take over those cities). That kind of things, basically, creating an alternate history.

Thanks for your help anyway, I'll see what that Python console is, and if it can help me. Thanks.

EDIT: Oh, that. It didn't work, I have already tried it. But to be sure, I'll try it again. Tommorow, as I've to go to bed soon (in a few minutes).

The Python console should be able to do anything that you can do in the WB - and then some. The WB is basically just a graphical interface and sets tons of limitations on what you can do with it.

But if you wanna play semi-historical Earth maps you should try Rhye's and Fall of Civilization. There is a Epic/Marathon version of the mod also, and I even did a event scripting tool for it. It should really cover you every need...

Yeah, I know about it, and I love. The problem is, I don't want a semi-historical world map. I want to create history completely by myself, different from history.

Does the Python console really work? I've tried it some more than half a year ago (at the beginning of this year if I remember correctly), and it didn't work in Hot Seat. Maybe I made a mistake... It would be great if it works.

Thanks! I hope. :P

Well, the most common mistake would probably be to launch the wrong console. It must say "Python 2.4.1" above the command prompt for it to be the Python console.

I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't work in hotseat, but then again, why play in hotseat mode? Play a single player game and change the player with alt + z in cheat mode instead. Or use the console to change the human player.

And I don't quite understand your objections towards using RFC, but I'm sure you know what you want/need...
