I was wondering something about the worldbuilder. If I wanted to create an advanced start scenario where civs are already at a certain point, do I have to select every tech that they have, or do I only have to select the most advanced ones (whereas the game will automatically fill in the prereqs)? For instance, if I wanted the civs to start in, say, the Medeival Era, would I have to select every tech for the Classical and Ancient eras (as well as any that they may have researched up to that point) or can I just select the top ones on the tech tree (like Chivalry, Theology, etc)?

Just change the civilization tech era from 'Ancient' to 'Medieval'; this will make it so that the civ recieves ALL ancient/classical techs, and is ready to research medieval techs. The ancient/classical techs won't be highlighted in the tech selection, but it'll still work. :)
