Worst start ever!

It's especially fun when you're in the Sci-Fi game in TOT, and you're surrounded by impassible terrain. That has happened to me twice! At least you get a good defense until the enemies can cross it...

I can't believe it. This thread is still alive?

You guys have really had hard luck. Mine is described several threads below here same forum . Nobody will break my record. Eliminated at the 1st turn. No no, at the 0th turn!

There are things worse than immediate death, like when you end up wasting hours on a game when it turns out your only on a 6x6 desert island in the sea that you cant cross with a trireme or, even worse, an island of mountains and your city stays at size one until you build a settler and disband the city and you find you have nowhere to go!

Then you're in the stone age discovering mathematics and some wise-ass comes by with a stealth fighter on a carrier and destroys your civ!

I am not cichlid221!!!
He's my brother.

I know for a fact that that has never happened to you, and, besides, the computer would never start you off in such bad terrain, unless it is told to do so, or if your map is entirely mountains!

For the worst ending this is pretty bad... Wasn't the end but was when I first started attacking other civs... I was second in size, had a huge army (Yep, mainly Cavaly, about 120 of them.) and had greatly position cities - Sortof like heaps of islands - On about 10 of them with 3-4 cities on each, none overla[pping and going hardcore... Then, the Germans started annoying me and so I went to attack them... They were on same science level as me, same units, just less of them... I filled up 6 transports with cavaly (And about 10 armor) also about 12/15 ships (destroyers and cruisers) and I lost all of them..... I killed two units and captured a city with a size of 2....
Hmmm, a tad sad? Yep, I think so...
Anyway, thats my story.

I've never been beaten that early by barby's except for when I don't build units in my cities for too long... But I got out of THAT habit

I still remember that time many years ago when I discovered that even 20 cruise missles couldn't take out an AEGIS cruiser. Those missles were my key to domination, and I decided to send them on a test-run. I had an island airbase loaded up with missles, and several stealth planes to escort. However, my two subs that I used for ASW and ASuW were far away, and I couldn't stop that injured AEGIS cruiser from destroying all of my units at once.

If so, then what is the fun of playing?

Worst starting position ever. Ona a large map in a two player game with 7 civs. I started on an island with room for just one town joined to the south pole. The only terrain was tundra glacier sea and two grasslands. I walked all along the pole and found no new land. I developed map making (by which time everyone else was on navigation), and there was no other land adjacent to the pole.
By the time I had found all this out my friend was on to his 30/35th city with Leonardos and gunpowder. The only game I have ever played in my life in which I was consistently rated the worst civ by Plato and all his goons.

My worst start happened with a settler on a mass of hills  and i had to explore for around 20 turns searching for a good location but then a barbarian attack killed off my only city  .

One of the worst starts i have ever had was in the greatest game i have ever played (on cheiftain, that is). I was the Japs, world map, started on the island of Japan. I wont go into details, but it took me until 1500AD or so to get anything done. After that, KICK ASS TIME!! that was aslo the game where the score never stopped tallying, Im still plaiyng it (like 2166 AD) and the score is still kept. It's as if the computer forgot that i lauched a spacecraft and took over the world.

My worst start is i started on a 2 square island next to 2, 1 square islands about 25 ocean squares away from any good islands.
