It's just good they never put 2 or 3 cities one tile away from the same volcano!
To prove that 3 cities around the same volcano is possible, I will show you this diagram, where x=land effected by volcano fallout, c=city, and v=volcano.

Building your first city next to a volcano is a sure way to win by conquest. Just press enter until it goes boom, and voila, conquest victory! :D

EDIT: I think that still works...

I am not familiar with, what did you call it - marsh? What is it and what do you do with it?

You are kidding, right. Or is it a bug?

The new terrain types are undoubtedly the worst innovation in C3C. They are especially bad because the AI has no idea how to deal with them.

Well...vulcanoes are a bad idea. No doubt.
Marshes are a different category; they could have been a nice addition: The AI doesn't improve lands outside their cultural borders, aside from roading and occasionally to spread irrigation. But, that was just sloppy implementation in C3C - it simply should have been the other way around: Founding on Marsh/Jungle needs to be possible, but clearing wastelands should have been enabled with a Industrial tech.

I have noticed that marsh has a high chance of revealing BG's more than jungle... or is just me? :hmm:

Wouldn't you lose by conquest if this happens?

I could've sworn that Ginger_Ale posted something about getting a conquest victory when your only city got blown apart by a volcano... :hmm:

I remember seeing a screenshot of an AI getting killed by a volcano, and it said that Ottomans had killed the Ottomans, so you might not be crazy.

Aha! Got it!

@Tomoyo: I'm guessing that screenshot is from a modded game, since AFAIK, you can't build cities on volcanoes.

Yeah, I just modded the game so that you could build cities on volcanos to make it easier for Rome to explode. It shouldn't change anything, though. That's the only thing I changed.

@Padma, he/she who replied to adog or whats his name probably knew the meaning of tome, but was referring to tomb as an architecteral building for the chance of it having something to do with Civilization, concidering that...well...tome itself is offtopic sorta isn't it? I mean...tome...? The ef?

metamike: when you make a comment like
...adog my friend your sense of humor has been lost forever in the tomes of history
and he responds
What's a tomes?
I assume he doesn't know the word. ;)

And from my perspective, the phrase "lost forever in the tomes of history" makes much more sense than "lost forever in the tombs of history", and is perfectly applicable and on-topic in this instance. :)

Wow...HAH! By the time he posted "What's a tomes" I already FORGOT what I posted before that, and that it had the word "tomes" in it.

Huh, so thats why.
