Yah, they use so many nonstandard abbreviations and always seem to assume people know what they stand for. They need a glossary just so people can look them up.

GOTM=Game of the Month

HoF= Hall of Fame

SG = Succession Game

SGOTM = Succession Game of the Month

All of these are seperate forums on this board..
GOTM
SGOTM
HoF
Succession Games

And in addition the xOTM games as their own webpage,
and so does does Hall of Fame

(COTM= Conquest of the month .. xOTM is a common short for GOTM, COTM and SGOTM)

And of yeah.. there is a Glossary of the most common terms in post 12 in the frequeantly asked questions (FAQ) thread

Considering 'Hall of Fame', 'Game of the Month' and 'Succesion Games' are forum names on CFC, it's not too farstretched to assume they are commonly known.

Uh - CfC= Civilization Fanatics Forum .

Edited to add: I'm still fairly new as well. It can be confusing when GL can mean both Great Library and Great Lighthouse and Great Leader. AI (artificial intelligence) is also sometimes referred to as AS (artificial stupidity). Just keep reading the posts and playing the game, and pretty soon you start getting it within the context.
