jprc
My dog is smarter than me
I would like to know if what I/we do is correct or not.
I try to explain:
Under the name "jprc", we are sometimes several as I am often accessing the forum when making a break with my team, or when in a dead time. I am always the writer/translator (hum!
) for all posts, but ideas or posts are mostly shared among us before it is posted, and we have great discussions even before posting.
We don’t have enough computers for playing individually (most of our computers are configurated for special use), and I am the only one with a public internet connection.
As the team leader, and addicted to civ since Civ1, I just found it is a great way to relax with a team, and do an external fun activity that is keeping us entertained while some part of our work is not so fun.
After trying myself at wotm1, I started playing wotm2, but had to care about a mission, no time for relaxing. The second half was then finished by one of my guys and I am sure he did it “by-the-book” (no reload, no preview on the site: no internet any way and I am the only one knowing my login)
For the wotm3, this was even better (with regards to team spirit and fun together), as I defined the strategy: monks monks monks (and I am the chief!
), and played the 1st third, then a team mate did the 2nd third, and the 3rd one finished it.
BUT:
- we were during all the game together (a long boring week end on duty, waiting for some action that never came…
, and each move was a collegial decision, with the one at the keyboard allowed to decide whatever he/she wished (excellent for learning how to take a decision after consultation of a team… and supporting the consequences when it was bad … like trying to attack Rome!).
- Game started in my computer (a laptop), and I went away for a while: I copied then the game/warlord folder into the 2nd computer, allowing them to continue the game. Again, I trust them 100% and I am sure no reload. (They were also informed by me that HOF is tracking all moves and this would be seen anyway). As it is like a team test, they took it seriously!
Now the questions:
1- Is it allowed to play “hot seat”, and receive advises from a group of person (then the player is not alone, and this can be unfair to those who are fighting alone against the machine)
2- is it allowed to transfer a wotm into another computer and continue the play from the last autosave (all turns are autosaved, up to 1000)?
If 1 or 2 is “no”, or If players answering this thread feel that it is unfair, so then please withdraw my/our wotm2 and wotm3 games.
(for the displeasure of seeing who is guilty/innocent, http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=4818743&postcount=81)
