We could colonize the Artics? I'm in ur Antartica buildin mah ICBM's.

They are the Arctic and Antarctic, with two Cs, and no, I don't think colonising the largest chunks of ice in the world would be at all fun.

In a game, or in real life.....no.

I always thought it'd be fun to do that.

It'd be cool if you could have barbarian Inuit with igloos. That and seal resources.

For the non-Inuit, it would take a fairly high technology to colonize of course.

Well the game is supposed to have a bunch of new 'future techs' so who knows, it might be possible

Actually I like to see a lot of uninhabitable or marginally useful terrain; polar regions, sizeable deserts and mountain ranges and such. The whole globe shouldn't be blanketed with cities and towns and farmland IMO. I would like to see maps in Civ 5 a little bigger, with the extra tiles going to unclaimed land instead of civilization spread.

Ditto, with the 3 hex radius for cities now, cities should be built for the city's sake, not just trying to grab land or prevent foreign expansion in your wastelands.

yeah, theres a reason no one, except maybe some insane polar explorer, settle there ^^
check out scotts or one of his fellows diary... -40°C what a warm day...
