Historically, they were lightly armed contemporaries to Hoplites, not the only unit eating Legionaries alive.

AFAIK they were excellent archers. I would make them a 3/1/1 replacement of a standard Archer and maybe Gallic Swordsmen could be 4/2/1 @ 30.

In RaR, the Immortals are 3.1.1 (like Swords), with a defensive bombardment (like Archers), require no Iron, and come with Bronze Working (like Spears and Hoplites). Well, and that's the way I want them.

Immortals are supposued be numbered at around 10,000 troops at any given time. Their sucesses are limited to the start of the Persian empire. When Alexander came, then only people that are capable of fighting him are Greek mencaries. Although Darius did use it to great effect.
