Just finished my turn and got the following warning;

versionwarningut7.jpg

any insights as to what this means?

Just because I dont like ugly Firaxis interface and I wanted to use something better (interface with turn number and better domestic advisor) :-(
From now on this should fixed, because I reverted to original version of interface files.

What is the prefered method for conducting diplomacy in a PB game? PM the individual here on CivFanatics? Use the CivStats diplomacy page? Use the in game diplomacy options? Just curious.

Winter time is the normal time, we in Holland are currently on Summertime which is GMT +2, instead of our normal GMT+1,.
Therefor 19:00 GMT+1 would be 20:00 GMT+2.

You can find the current GMT or UTC here
Just so I'm clear; start time is 18:00 GMT? So 2:00 PM, east coast US/Canada?

Wow, finally back! I can't wait to finally get into playing! My dictator muscle is ancious to flex.

Garf> Interesting, where can one get such an interface improvement?

Civgeek> I would recommend using CivStats, I recon it will even send an email notification to the recipient. The built in diplomacy screen in Civ4 is quite bugged in multiplayer.

As confirmed by Xeophist, it is 18:00 GMT. But I think it would be 1:00PM east coast. If you open control panel/ Date & Time you'll see:

(GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US& Canada). So we're 5 hours behind GMT....So 18:00 GMT - 5 = 13:00 or 1 PM our time.

I'm not sure about daylight saving time though, we are on right now, but is GMT ? If not this could change things, and your calculation might be right...

I'm confused, can someone confirm ?:crazyeye:

Clock and turn: http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=124

Domestic: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=148109

U can use the files in \My Documents\My Games\civ4\CustomAssets (single player only), or replace core files of the game (=Version conflict), or create MOD for this.

But, unfortunately, Civilization.exe is unable to find out, whether the changes are secure, or malicious :-( Unless we all use same MOD (like http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=50).
Even more unfortunate is, that the MOD is not changing only the interface, but also game play. But U can switch "the bad settings" off.

D* that's 2:00 - 4:00 pm east coast. I thought it was 1:00 - 3:00 pm. I will have to leave the session early  ; is it OK to start the session and then switch to AI with about 45 minutes left? If not I will probably have to step aside for a sub ...

GMT=UTC=Zulu=GMT, summer, winter dont matter. GMT never changes... which is why UK (normaly GMT time) is now GMT +1.

You can also go into the control panel => Regional settings and change the timezone to GMT. Make sure to pick Casablanca/Monrovia, as they do not have Daylight savings time. London, Dublin and such do...
Then if you apply the settings you should see your clock change to GMT. If you pick London you will see you clock jump to GMT+1.
Thus you can make sure what time is what time  well I hope you get what I mean....

Hi folk

As vacation ended, real life went back like a tidal wave of work for me to do... I'm unable to find the time for the game this evening, so dear host, please kick me from the game and let he AI take over - you may also give my seat to someone else interested.

Hope you all will have a great time - I'll bugger off to work now :-|

If you haven't got any replacement players lined up, then I'd be happy to take over... :)
Just PM me the password of your civ and the IP adress of the game. :)

Darkness, can I count with you today then? You don't need to wait for netbjarne for the password, I can just replace him with an AI, give you the game password and you can claim the civ.

Yeah, that's fine.

Just PM me the game password (I assume the IP adress is the one in the opening post) and I'll log in tonight when I get home from work (about 21:00 CET).

Hang on :), 21:00 CET means you will miss the accelerated start. You can claim the CIV afterwards, but an AI will play some turns instead of you.
