Xeo's Pitboss Server

Damn peer-to-peer networking! PitBoss should be strictly client-server I think. Well, keep trying, I was able to connect and I'm behind a company firewall.

We will wait until 19:45, those who don't show up by then will be converted to an AI, since many players are already signed in. They can reclaim their civ afterwards though.

I just logged in as well. Had same delay trying to connect to Portuga. I just went back, then tried to log on again. It worked after a few tries, o I was in and finished my turn. Tried o talk to all, but nobody answered ?? Seemed no one was there.:p

Hi everyone - just to say that I really can't stay beyond 8.30 GMT. So if we have to wait until 7.45, I can only play for roughly half an hour...

sorry for the lateness people. I was just getting in from work... :(
The AI did decent for me. Unfortunately it neglected the worker techs after building a worker, but I can remedy that.

Also sorry for not responding much in the accompanying chat. I was trying to get a look around in my civ.

This was pretty fun - what does everyone think about doing another accelerated session, say, same time next week?

Would that be 19 GMT or 19 GMT +1 ;)

I am all for it... Plenty of land grab left to do....

Yes, to avoid confusion, like we all had (big time !) today, please stick to GMT in our communication. Each one of us will calculate our local time from the agreed GMT and apply daylight saving time or not according to local practice.

I am for another accelerated session too, even though there is no warranty that every Wednesday is slow day for me

Woohoo that was a good start! Even if we had some problems with that damn daylight savings thingy :)

I'm happy that there were no persistent connection issues and I hope the gameplay was smooth for everyone.

I'm absolutely in for another session next week wednesday, same time (18:00 GMT). If everyone agrees, I'll update the initial post.

Please don't be surprised by my tank, it was in the hut next to the one where ptpan found a rifleman.

What's the time difference between CET and GMT atm?
I can make 20:00 CET, which I think is 19:00 GMT?

The best way is described by namliaM several post above: Set your own PC to GMT time zone, then compare the time displayed on your PC with your watch to calculate the time difference.

This is found on a newspaper website:
Saturday, 15 February Italy v Wales 1330 GMT (1430 CET)

So, yes, it seems CET is 1 hour ahead of GMT, as you calculated. But it doesn't agree with Xeo proposal (18:00 GMT). We'd have to negotiate...

Hey Xeo, I'm glad you didn't find the third hut nearby, which gave me the nuclear. Please, gang, I'm just a builder, don't any of you force me use it too early...:scan:

I can probably make it (that would be the 9th?).

Incidentally, you can also use the time on the forum posts to help figure out differences; for example, I'm east coast US/Canada and my previous post lists as 7:38 am, which if I'm correct should be 12:38 pm in the UK and 1:38 pm in Switzerland?

I wonder if the forum honors daylight savings time :)
Your post showed up for me at 9:19 am ... when did you post it your local time?

Remeber daylight savings tho, most of europe is currently on CEST, Central European SAVINGS Time. Which in turn means most of us Europeans are on GMT+2. Therefor 18:00GMT = 20:00 CEST and Italy vs Wales (is that a country??) will actually start 15:30 due to DLS (DayLight Savings). Remember GMT and CET do not take DLS into account.

I wouldnt trust Newspapers to allways tell the truth ;)

@CivGeek see my post here, I am in Holland which Honors Daylight savings the same as the Swiss (Xeo) and we are in the same timezone too ;)

I was kindoff lucky connecting earlier than 20:00....

Hi everyone - I'm sorry to be a pain, but I now can't do Wednesdays. Any other day at 18:00 GMT or later is fine...
