Yeah, how many times has this game crashed on you?

Very nice processor, poor graphics card. Patch 1.52 from the very start.
Turns progress quickly, but scrolling and animation lags. No crashes ever.

I'd like to update everyone. I bought 1.5 gigs of GSkill memory, took out my Corsair XMS piece. I have'nt had one single problem or crash since!:D

So the bottom line is some problems may be bad memory or just not enough.I recommend at least a gig if not more, that's my minimum specs....that's just a misprint on the box....LOL

Everyone thanks for the tips....problem solved!!!!:goodjob:

I've never had a crash but there have been a few times when it went dormant for a little while and made me think it did. Seems like everytime Hatty comes for a visit it gets really slow for some reason.

About 3 crashes, had to reinstall it.

Probably that's true, but not the only reason. I have two gigs of high-quality memory. CIV shuts my computer down about once every couple of days. My problem might be hardware related, though. I'm starting to suspect it might be overheating and the shutdown is a safety mechanism.

My computer crashes when it tries to save the game. Does anyone have an idea why ????????

mine has never crashed normally, and I play with high graphic levels on a 512 MB of RAM laptop.

When I say normally I have had two crashes using mods, but I think it was the mods not the games.

Never had a crash, and the PC is usally running a dozen (low CPU usage) background tasks at the same time.

I think I might have one, but I am not sure. Has been stable and fast on my machine since I took it out of the box (pre patch).

Most of the time i can't play more than 15-20 minutes before a crash...
It happens more frequently when i try to save.

Always crashes when I play huge and reach classical era.

Never on the release version.

There are ways to figure out if that's the case. Do you have tools installed that tell you the temperature of your mobo and cpu? You could start a game of civ and check the temperature every half an hour, or so. If it keeps increasing, you are probably right. You could also check windows system logs to see if there's any information there as to why it's rebooting.

Hundreds of times, even on a clean windows instalation. I am well above the minimum specs, no heating problems and no hardware problems that I can detect using disgnostic software. Other software runs fine.
