Yet another Orbis PBEM

Sadly, Spuma is from timezone closer to Greenwich than you...

This for me means "So?".. I don't know how you do it, I can't get my head round timezones. I've never been bad at math, but this just hiccups my CPU.

Generally speaking, short sleep breaks are allowed in this game. ;)

Just an idea: how about sending short text message to the mobile of a subsequent player as soon as a file is sent? I know it might be tricky (afterall mobile phone number is personal data; we have to be carefull with timezones etc.), but personaly I dont mind neither receiving such message from Jarrema nor senting it to oneturnmike. I'll PM my no. to Jarrema, he might use it if he likes.

I can't see much point in this. If I'm not at home it won't help me to know the save file is there. If we can all simply check our email every morning and evening and play the game if it is there, this game will move along pretty well.

As hoped, wise Amurite people withstood the vampiric bloodbath. The bravest warriors have been sent to seek precious mana sources.

Turn 3 to Jarrema

yeah, I have to agree with Mcwill. In theory the idea of texting that the game has been sent looks good, in practice it wouldn't make one bit of difference for me. I can't play when Im at work, and I ALWAYS check several times a morning and night for games sent. Especially since it only takes a few minutes to do a round.

I like your thought Lgaard, but I don't think it would do anything to move the game forward.

Game sent to Lgaard

great Calabim must teach puny goblins a lesson. They dare to construct their fort at THE TILE ADJACENT TO OUR CAPITAL!!!
What a impertinence! :trouble:

Scouts report back they have encountered representatives of The Hippus Horseclans.

Turn 4 to Lgaard.

Our heroic forces wiped out neigbouring Goblin clan (after the game system has taken their fort out of the game)

I'm curious. When I played my last turn (after the apparent River of Blood), I checked the list of the top cities. If I remember correctly, they were all at 3+ population. There were at least 2 Doviello cities at 3. Does the cheating AI ignore this world spell?

This also bothered me, but i didn't know who was the owner of these cities.

My guess is that Doviello had two size 2 cities, which grew to size 3 next turn.

It is also quite possible that Doviello had 2 cities with size 4, that subsequently grow from 2 to 3.
I have ran an "experimental game" with Advanced Start in the same setting that we are playing, and AI sometimes has bought cities of size 4 at the start of the game

This bug also bothers me a lot. Units summoned outside cultural borders cost supply even when they're gone (actually they start costing supply just AFTER they're gone). I've observed this in an SP game and it basically rules out spamming summons.

Quite doubtful. I tried it with a test game, with the same parameters as our game. I built two cities and added as many population as I could. I ended up with two cities with population of 4 and 3. I tried to select the locations where they would have the most food available. One was near a lot of flood plains and a sheep. The other was near Yggdrasil, a cow, rice and a banana. The growth bar for both of them was stagnant. So if the Doviello got lucky and popped some huts, that could put them at two cities of four each. After the world spell that would put them at size two with no real way to grow, since they don't have any improved tiles. Almost certainly not in one turn.

yes, my guess is the ai cheated. considering there are what..5 cities that we know of at 4 or 3?

should we all form a pact to kill the AI? .....hmmmm maybe we already have ;)
