I believe that it will be better if we wait for Onemoreturnmike.
It is IMHO a bad idea, that one player plays for other (and knows his position). I can then use this informations for my benefit, even unconsciously.
If Onemoreturnmike finds someone who is not involved in our game, it would be ok.
If not, we will wait - it is only a couple of days.

FOR FUTURE:
If one plans to go away, find a replacement! It is not so hard

I'd prefer if we always try to find the 'external' replacement in case of travelling etc., but if someone is not able to deliver such replacement, Jarrema would keep things going himself (or find a replecement on his own).
Same with players quitting. If someone is unexpectedly (i.e. without a further notice) not responding for more than 3 days, we would find a (permanent?) replacement.
PBEM games snail by definition, let's not make it stop. Is this deal acceptable?

I was thinking exactly the same way.
I have almost all Your passwords now. Please, send me the rest.
If someone would be missing for more than a week WITHOUT A WARNING, I will try to find a replacement, and if I cannot I will switch a control to the AI after 2 weeks...

But if someone knows that he cannot play for an extended period of time, please find replacement. There are people at this forums who can be ones. Maybe try and ask people playing in other Orbis PBEM-s? Or people playing in any PBEMs, and give them detailed instructions.

I go into the game, click on the same you sent to me. Then, right after it gets to the loading screen, I get a Crash to Desktop.
