This is yet another suggestion thread. I haven't seen anything to suggest the following, so I'll put it here.

Do or Die Mode: Firaxis, you remember Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, right? What happened to the "Do or Die Mode" option? I loved that and always played with it.

AI Competition: Not what you think. Everytime I play (on Warlord), World War 343234 always occurs. Roughly 3/4 of the civs around will declare war on me. It always occurs like this, "Civ A declares war" (usually for no reason than kicks and giggles) then suddenly each turn after that almost every other Civ starts declaring war on me, even my buddies. It's like the civs don't compete against each other.

Fast Units: To me, the single most annoying thing in the game. First, units that don't kill get no experience, so fighting of 20 fast units will never upgrade anyone, that needs to be changed. Second, how do fast units escape bullets? I don't care how fast you are, but Samurai can't outrun bullets. Once you hit Rifleman, I think Ancient and Middle Ages fast units shouldn't be able to run away. Basically my suggestion is this, if the fast unit is fighting a unit from a more advanced age, it should lose it's ability to retreat. This way Knights can't run away from armed Mech. Infantry.

Anyone else's thoughts?

EDIT: Upon further review I remember Mech. Infantry having 2 movement points which would indicate fast units can't retreat from it. Still stands for Rifleman and Infantry and Marines.

EDIT2: Almost forgot, War Weariness when a Civ declares war on you. Why? If a foreign country attacks my homeland, my people won't be shouting "Give peace a chance!". Instead they'll be shouting "Nuke the f***ers!" However with a Democracy, any war, regardless of who starts it causes War Weariness. Even with Universal Sufferage the effects are horrendous. Not to mention that if a civ declares war with you, the next turn all your cities revolt, well hell's bells, that makes it tough to build an army because your own citizens aren't willing to help defend their homeland. They must've really hated being Iroquois. Oh wait, I was leading culture by about 20,000 points....
